Terabith Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 I saw some, and I vaguely recalled someone raving about it. Y'all, it's awesome. 1 1 Quote
alisoncooks Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 My DH brought some home for me. It was good. I didn’t share it. 2 2 Quote
Terabith Posted December 6, 2021 Author Posted December 6, 2021 It's ranking up there with the Lindoor peppermint series of truffles this holiday candy season. Quote

TechWife Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Do tell - is this a recipe or a commercial product? I need to know. I think. Quote

alisoncooks Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 I didn’t get a peanut brittle flavor from it, but I thought it had hints of maple. And I love maple goodies (donuts, fudge, etc). Quote

Maple and caramel I tasted. No coffee. I'm absolutely sure because if it had coffee at all I would have not been able to swallow. And I liked it, so no coffee flavor is possible. I've tried to like coffee for years. Last year I had to give my favorite Contingo to my dh because he used it for coffee once and weeks later I could still taste coffee if I used it for my tea. alisoncooks Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 No coffee flavor for me either, but I remember telling DH that it would go well with coffee. Quote
stephanier.1765 Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 I just bought some for my dh last night. He took it to work today so I haven't heard his critique of it quite yet but I can't wait to find out. It's times like these that it's really hard to be a vegan. I have to live vicariously through him. 1 Quote
plansrme Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Is it good enough to make up for the fact that they have tampered with the formulation of Reese's PB trees so that they're now just meh? I think it started with the PB pumpkins. I tried in October to convince myself that I had just gotten some that were stale. But I swear, having tried a couple of trees, that they've mucked up at least the chocolate portion, and maybe both the chocolate and PB. Evil scroogey scum. 1 Quote
Katy Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 I’m not a fan and I usually love everything sweet. I guess I was expecting peanut brittle covered in a reece’s cup. It’s not that, and a little too cloying IMO. Maybe if it had been described as maple Reece’s. 1 Quote
kristin0713 Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 I tried to find these today and could NOT! I'm dying to try them! Quote
stephanier.1765 Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 Update: My Reese's Cup/peanut brittle loving dh was not impressed with the combo. His detailed review was, "it was okay," made with the "it was actually worse than okay but I don't want to hurt your feelings since you bought them for me" face. Quote
City Mouse Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 I tried it over the weekend. I will say that I think it would be much better if the outside was chocolate rather that PB coating. 1 Quote
Hoggirl Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 We are now addicted to them!! Dh also commented he tasted coffee. I did not. 1 1 Quote

I'm not a coffee drinker (hate the taste but love the smell), but there's something about the way they smell that smells reminiscent of coffee to me. Quote

My DH just picked them up for me at Target today after he heard me talk about it (since I don't eat any candy, at all, and I mentioned reading about it here). He got me the "miniature" version and I must say that I expected more of the "brittle" in it and was disappointed at how little crunchy texture there was - but it was good! You can see if they have inventory in your zip code: https://www.target.com/p/reese-39-s-holiday-peanut-brittle-miniatures-9oz-16ct/-/A-83020715 Edited December 14, 2021 by mathnerd Quote
