Night Elf Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 I have a Fitbit Inspire 2 that is supposed to track my sleep. This is very important right now because we're trying to fix my insomnia and I need an accurate accounting of every time I fall asleep and wake up. I could do it the old fashioned way and handwrite it each time but honestly, in the middle of the night when I'm waking 3+ times, I just don't remember to write down the times. I've tried that already. My fitbit isn't accurate anymore. It only records some sleep periods, not all of them. For example, for today, it ignored when I went to sleep at 10:00 pm and started me at 4:00 am. That's 5 unaccounted hours that I know I slept at least two periods. I'm using a CPAP machine now along with a combination of sleep meds. and I'm still waking up multiple times a night! So I end up sleeping around 7:30am to 11:00 am or so. That's my morning gone. Can anyone recommend a new sleep tracker that will be more accurate? My fitbit has to have more than an hour between wake up and sleep to record a separate period. If I fall back asleep within an hour of waking up, it says I'm still asleep. Most often I'm up 1.5 - 2 hours. Quote
gardenmom5 Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Supposedly the best sleep tracker is the Oura Ring. Dh is currently using it because his dr wants to see how he's sleeping. I've been reading many reviews as I try to figure out what I want to buy to replace my current fitbit . . . Quote
ktgrok Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 My apple watch works with the app Pillow which seems super accurate. (the normal sleep tracking was not - I had to get Pillow for something that actually worked) Quote

That's $300! I can't find anything cheaper that is comparable. Quote

Really, all I want to know are the times I wake up and when I go to sleep so I can an accurate number of hours of sleep per night. Right now I'm getting less than 4 hours at night and another 3 if I'm lucky to go back to sleep around 7:30am. I can't schedule anything before 12 noon because this is such a serious problem. When I try to drive tired my eyes close and I weave. My car beeps when I've gone over the line and makes me open my eyes again. It's crazy! My psych doctor doesn't want me driving before 12 noon but sometimes I just have to do it. I was tested and have extremely mild obstructive sleep apnea. I'm a 5.5 and below a 5 is normal, but Kaiser still recommended and paid for a CPAP machine. It let me sleep 4 hours the first night, 6 hours the second night and 3 hours the next two nights. That's no good. My sleep meds don't work. Right now I'm taking a combination of Trazodone and Dayvigo. Twice the Dayvigo made me feel drugged so I had to stay in bed and in the morning I have to hold onto the walls to get down the hall. More craziness! I'm driven by hunger so I have to get up and eat. This morning I went back to bed after I ate and I slept another 2.5 hours. Then I woke up and spent the next 3 hours in my recliner dozing. It's afternoon and I'm still tired. I feel tired all of the time. I just don't know what else to do!!! Do Fitbit watches wear out? I've had my Inspire 2 for a while. I could buy a different one. The Luxe model looks like it has good reviews. Again all I'm tracking is sleep. I don't even track steps anymore. Quote
