8Good morning! I have been up since 4 when the alarm I had previously set for Norco rang.  Woke both dh and me up but the great thing was, I had mostly sorted out how to get up and go to the bathroom, and escaping from the room without screaming, (the Percocet my ortho prescribed yesterday, and the new triangle style rollator with a nice sized bag.and a box too that attached to the front which I wasn't using at night really helped me)   I couldn't go back to sleep because I needed to correct the alarms and still was in quite bad pain but not excruciating.

Good morning, Amy and Christina! Good morning, everyone!

I have taken meds, bacon is in the oven, coffee is set up. I have to wait at least 30 mins after thyroid medication to have coffee or food, so trying to get an early start.

Today:

bookstore

Dd to tutorial
make soup
Pick up Ds from school
Ask Dh to pick up Dd?
Take Ds to urgent care? His cold has dragged on for a month now. Not covid, we tested twice.

Good morning, all! Lots to do today....

....coffee, and likely lots of it
....call vet, make appt for our warrior kitty who is not doing well at all; she's not eaten food since the weekend, and is just barely drinking water; not sure what's going on
....call insurance/doctor's office, b/c we got a bill for DS's visit??? Should have been just the co-pay, which we paid
....scan in & email survey for my jury duty summons
...prep for tomorrow (2nd grade)
...school with DS (finish his history homework; help him make an outline/show him how to start writing the paper for DH)
...run by Kohl's to get my online order
...if there's time in there, take DS to pick out glasses
....if there's still time in there, quilt????
....definitely laundry
....plan meals for the day
....whatever else gets done

Better get to it! Have a good day, everyone!

Okay, vet appt set for 3 pm; they were going to set it for Thursday, till I asked what to do between now & then since she is not eating food and barely drinking water. So thankful they could fit her in. I didn't realize how worried I was until I thought "will she make it to Thursday....???"

Okay, sorted the insurance/doctor visit thing; apparently the doctor's office just sent us the bill before waiting a sufficient amount of time for insurance to pay.

Scanned/emailed my jury summons thing.

Keeping the dog door closed today so kitty doesn't get out. Here's a picture of her so you guys can pray if you don't mind; her name is Heidi. She's an annoying, adorable fluff ball (she's the one that brings live mice in and lets them go....)

picked up the Kohl's order

decided we'd better wait on DS's glasses, as his Rx didn't change by very much at all, and who knows how much the cat is going to cost us. :sigh:

Finally tackling the other stuff.

Thanks, y'all! I'll update when we learn something.

Got the 2nd grade stuff figured out -- history stuff is printed, homework sheet is printed, no prep for LA & Math, need to go to the store to prep for science.

Time for lunch and a nap before we go to the vet.

Had insomnia from 2:00 to 4.  It didn't help that I had a mole removed yesterday and had a bunch of stitches put in so my back was hurting in the middle of the night.   This made me very groggy when my alarm went off at 5:50.

Kids are out the door to school. I'm about to head out.

This afternoon they both have an ortho appointment and I have an interview via zoom.

I also need to place an order for DHs  grandma,  choose a photo and order Christmas cards and decide if I want to order a cricut or silhouette machine.  I also need to gather the rest of my reference material for my tattoo consultation tomorrow.

It is also the first day of the new trimester so I will get a new class full of kiddos.  My brain is on overload right now.

Home from the vet. Heidi is there, getting 48 hrs of IV fluids/nausea meds/prayers & hopes -- blood work revealed she's in acute renal failure, of no known origin or reason. Literally nothing else at all was out of whack in all her bloodwork, she didn't/doesn't have a fever, etc.

So, we give fluids, hope for the best (the vet thinks she has a chance), pray like mad, recheck the bloodwork in 48 hrs to see if it gives us any clearer picture for a path forward and......I don't know after that.  This stupid annoying cat better not die on me. As annoying as she is, I love the dumb thing and cannot take a pet death right now.

DH did think of dinner, so rice & carrots are cooking, he's making bratwursts, and then we'll get Oldest off to class on time.

Hi all-

I am finally sitting in one place long enough to do this entry.  Grocery produce shopping done, pharmacy run done, dog walk done, 90 minutes in basement sorting stuff, took photos of things to sell , filled a couple boxes for donations, posted items to sell, made soup, shower done, 3 loads laundry done.

Heidi praying for your cat, she is so pretty and looks very comfortable on her quilt.

Uber issues- check

Call home health - They called and came and then I also spoke to the billing supervisor and explained to her that Tricare doesn\t do the insane billing practices of Medicare.  Medicare wants first and last bills to be processed and then all the others.  Tricare wants to see them in order.  Or all at once.  Not first, last and then middle

Call health advocate

Call allergist Tomorrow

Call neurologist Tomorrow

Figure out if going to Bonefish Grill or using $10 Uber credit that ends today any other way. Went to Bonefish Grill (it was my dh's gift card from his company given last Dec instead of having a Christmas party) oh and found out the bad news that due to govt contracts being set in stone but costs going up, both bonuses and raises will be smaller this year.  Raises average is 3% so way less than inflation

Learn about the Access bus service. -still to do

Set up PT Tomorrow after I talk with the health advocate

Read more of the book I am presenting on Friday. still to do

@TheReader, praying for Heidi and you all!

Dh came home really discouraged after another rough day. His 5th period class is a nightmare. There are 8-10 kids who are just terrible. The parents/caregivers have attitudes as well. Administration isn't coming down hard on them, either. It's ruining his whole experience there. Dh is melancholy and tends to think negatively, but this is bad for him.

He's lonely. He hates being a "nobody" and not having people who know and respect him. He doesn't have time right now to get to know people at church. Basketball is adding like 3+ hours to his already long 9-10 hour day when there are meetings and such. This school has a lot more than his last school did.

He would love to do something else, but he has no idea what. He's only worked in education.

Sorry to unload all that. I just needed to get it all out  I think.

As someone in a classroom this year, this is my experience too.

I had an interview today, fingers crossed.

Still need to order Christmas cards.

I did make progress on quilting some stockings tonight.

Here's hoping I sleep better tonight.

@mom31257 Sorry things are so hard for your Dh! Can he look for a private school job?

Maybe he could talk to a head hunter or career counselor?

With me only working very part-time from home, I don't think he could make enough in the Christian schools in our area. If he could stay 5.5 more years, we could stay on the state health insurance. I think he could have done it more easily at his last school. Things were pretty good there. I do hope to go to work full-time next year, but as I'm not sure how much money I could really make. Good pay and good insurance would help a lot.

Someone like that might be good.

About 8 or 9 years ago, I asked for zn All-Clad pot or pan. Now my dh has been giving me Henkle knives, all sorts of cooking gear.

After that first All-Clad, he went all out on them.  One pit I have is a very small pot used only for making a sauce or something equally very  small.  Way too small for Mac n Cheese.  Next pot size is big enough for making the box of couscous or a small Mac N Cheese. Over here it is me who would like less pots because the pots are almost all in cabinets over the stove, and difficult enough for me to handle when I was in much better shape but now after getting in much worse shape and getting lymohadema, it realy is very hard to manzge so many pots znd pans. ( The pans are even worse since all of them and all the glass ancmetal bowls snd three sizes of mess strainers are all in ghe cabinets beneath the large very wide xooktop, fans, and grill ensemble and small counter spaces too.  Thst area had pipes too.
