prairiewindmomma Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 I am pretty sure I have messed up either my adductor muscles or my psoas or something in that region. I have hip/groin pain, especially in the inner thigh. When laying down, I cannot bring my heel towards my knee or bring my thigh in towards my other leg without pain. I cannot lift my knee up easily, as if to climb a stair. Moving from seated to standing and standing to seated is uncomfortable. Bending over to reach something is painful. I am taking care when standing or walking because that side feels unstable. Any tips? Pain is manageable and I’d prefer to ride this out until Monday if possible. 1 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 Alternate ice and heat? Though I would probably focus more on ice if there is any swelling. Quote
KatieJ Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 My Chiro says ice during a pain flare. 20 mins, 4 times a day at least. sorry, rotten day to be in pain. 1 Quote

PeterPan Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 Start with the obvious: are you dehydrated, have you missed your calcium/magnesium? Your psoas *wraps* from front to back. When you lie on your back, can you bring one knee toward your chest? How does that feel? When you lie on your back, can you put your feet together and *gently* let your knees start to drop to stretch? How does that feel? If you sit on a firm chair or sofa, can you *slowly* bend down and touch the floor and then come up? The back is a funny thing, because one direction or the other can be what you need. So if you do something and it feels WORSE, try going in the opposite direction. If you do any of those and they feel good, try doing 10. Sounds like you need to be a princess the rest of the day, sorry. Quote
