Good morning!

@ScoutTN, I was having weird dreams, too, but I can't quite piece them together.

Dh and I are getting ready and going out to breakfast. I'm glad he's off teaching this week, but basketball is still taking a lot of his break time. I'm off my classes, too.

  • go out to breakfast
  • shop some while we are out
  • not sure about lunch yet
  • play a game or watch something before dh has to go to practice and the tournament game
  • grocery store
  • laundry
  • clean the guest bath
  • make the beds in guest and ds' bedroom
  • watch something and relax

Good morning! Woke up in a lot of pain plus a mess I will have deal with later.  But pain is gone, birds are singing, sun is shining so I back in a good mood.

Yes, ScoutTN,  lots of calling it back doctor offices insurance companies xcetera.

I have a list for those.

New  ones

calling pulmonologist be about the Airlife breathing contraption I got at the hospital.  I don't know what my setting should be, etc.

Calling Handi Access public transportation - seeing if they have approved me, I need to get there and buy tickets.  Then I can get rides for 2 dollars versus 9- 17 dollars w Uber or Lyft

Change automatic Amazon order

Get someone to fix my mainframe.

Send out Christmas, Birthday list

Good morning, all!

Today I need to:
....coffee
....laundry?
....quilt
....email/call grandma about coming to visit
....at least look at DS's school homework stuff and see what he needs to do, decide when to do it
....finalize the menu for Thanksgiving, with just us, and make the grocery list, go shopping
....dinner tonight should be the leftovers from yesterday, thank goodness
....veg out/etc. after dinner
....anything I'm forgetting -- if I finish the quilting early enough, maybe some other stuff in my sewing room

Good morning, all!

We had a fire here yesterday so the air quality is bleh...even with the air purifier the house smells like a campfire.

I found out that my order for Thanksgiving dinner was canceled due to too many orders.  I'm now figuring out what to make and still keep it simple.  Dh is limited for help due to knee replacement and dd is in wheelchair so small tasks for her, as well.

So, today I'm tackling:

  • laundry
  • vacuum house
  • menu planning/shopping
  • Finish working on office/desk/books
  • Submit insurance claim that was denied for dd's surgery
  • sign up for continuing education classes for school
  • make a reading corner, set up books for the week

Have a great day!

Howdie guys, thanks for the reminder to call for health appointments!  I tried 2x last week but apparently at the wrong times.

Happy Monday!  I was too lazy over the weekend again (as far as client work at least), so I have a lot to do today.

The weather is nice enough for late November.  Hope to be able to enjoy it a bit more.

Done:

  • Laundry in the wee hours.
  • Slept some.
  • Packed the band uniforms in the car to return to school.  Hooray for yet another bulky item out of the house (for about 9 months).
  • Kids to school.  They got there a little early, but managed to be late to class after dropping off their uniforms and instruments in the band room.  😕  Oh well.
  • Walked the pup & other pup stuff.
  • Washed dishes.
  • Sent out one client email so far.
  • Caught up on emails, news, social media, electronic school stuff.
  • Working on coffee 2 or 3 ....

To do:

  • Lots more client work.
  • Bring the kids home, make them do their housework, homework, pup duty.  Maybe get them to blow leaves.
  • Make medical appointments.
  • Get my calendar(s) up to date.
  • "Yoga etc." exercise.
  • A bit of reading.
  • Get the laundry up to date.
  • Might TKD be possible tonight??
  • Whatever else gets done.

How are you doing?

I am much better. Saturday night I couldn't move my leg without pain. Today, I only yelp occasionally, and I was able to sleep in the bed last night.

Laundry is working.

Reorganized my pantry, the cupboard under the kitchen sink, and the shelf over my washer and dryer.

Made and cleaned up b’fast.

Lots of recycling out.

Next up: finish my coffee and make a list.

Then go out for a quick, close to home errand run.

We're back from going out. Dh is finishing something he started watching earlier this week.

Going to check out the scissors in the house and see which will be best for cutting fabric.

Well, I just cut my thumb on one of the pair of scissors! The thing is a couple spots on it look rusty. I haven't had a tetanus shot in many years. I can't get one at a pharmacy here in GA without a prescription, but I can across the state line in TN. So I might be heading up there today.

@mom31257, yes,  go get one!

Just got back from Costco...did a walkthrough to get an idea for meals on Thursday.  Picked up some bacon wrapped scallops for an appetizer, the giant bag of potatoes.  I'm going to the market, order a prime rib, look for a turkey breast for dh and boys.  I'm not a huge turkey fan but they'll miss out on their leftover sandwiches for Friday if I don't.  It's their post Thanksgiving tradition to watch college football and eat leftovers.

Kids are home, work assigned, and I picked up my coat from the dry cleaner's (they were replacing the zipper).

Bent over and forgot I had coffee in my hand, spilled it on my coat.  Coat is now in the washer.  😕

I do that coffee thing at least 2x per month.  Each time I'm sure I've learned my lesson.  😕

Errands took longer than I thought, but I did a couple extra things not on my original list.

Potatoes are cooked and mashed. Other veggies for shepherd’s pie are chopped.

Got a snack.

Headed out to pick up Ds.

I have gotten many things done.  All the doctor's I have called, called me back and are helping me.  New good part-time nurse is setting me up with home health care. Doctor prescribed a prescription laxative instead of me taking 15 different pills. Rheumatologist is refilling prescriptions including changing my Enbrel to a plain injection rather than a sure click. And the pulmonologist nurse called and explain to me how to use the air life spirometer.

Oh and my mainframe finally I s working since dh actually took my the phone from me when I begged me him to too.  He was really mad that I didn't have and ISP username and password and I had told him that Google Fiber never gave me one.  Fiber confirmed that and explained that Window' 10 is dumb and told him how w to fix the issue.

When we finally met up with my oldest and his family at the airport for our vacation, my granddaughter was in the stroller and she grabbed my coffee cup, thank goodness it was cold and she just dumped it all over me LOL

I scheduled 4 health visits and requested a therapist referral from another provider.  Yay!

Got the kids info about their bank balances (sub-accounts that are technically owned by me).  One kid is not pleased.  🙂

Y'all, I finished the quilting. Once I get it cleaned up (threads trimmed, etc.) I will take a photo and share here for you guys.

Wrote the artist statement for it so I can enter it into the show I want - fitting a quilt story in 750 characters (including the spaces!) is insane and the hardest part for me. I think I did it.

Got mostly nothing else done, but I am beyond happy about the quilt being done.

A person needs a sense of humor when ordering groceries for pick up, I am glad I do. We have apples, apples and more apples. Totally my mistake I thought I ordered 6 apples and lucky me got 6 totes of apples. We are all laughing and the boys have figured out many apple recipes that we need to try now.

The totes are small.

@TheReader, that's great! Can't wait to see it!

@SKL and @MooCow, 2 coffee spills in one day! I wonder what the odds of that are in our group.

So I crossed the border to get the medical care I needed thanks to my crappy health insurance. 😉 I called about a doctor's appointment here, and it was going to be $129. I called a pharmacy in TN and it would be $60 to get the shot, so I figured it was worth saving at least the difference.

I drove to the town my dad lives in and got it. Then I was able to see him and have dinner with him, so that made it even better.

Dd called and her car battery was dead right at time to go to work, but her roommate took her. We figure it needs replacing as old as it is, so we might go up in the morning and help her with that. I think she could join AAA tonight and have them help. She works again tomorrow night, so she really needs to go home and go to bed in the morning.

I am about to go wash the sheets and get the house clean and tidy before ds and the gf come tomorrow afternoon.

Yes, I agree with @ScoutTN

I have even been known to let it lapse and then call AAA from the side of the road and re-enroll . We pay a little over a hundred but it covers all three of the drivers that are adults in our house.

Dear daughter was kind enough to take me and youngest to hobby lobby and we all loaded up lol

then we got burgers and brought them home, dh appreciated that.

did my freezing walk

The odds of 2 coffee spills in one day are incredibly high, considering that I consistently spill my coffee at least once a day.  One way or another it gets spilled somehow.  I've been like this since I was a kid.  Guess I should wonder why ....

I used to drive to my folks' town to get dental care, rather than fuss with local options.  Eventually I found a local dentist I like.

We get our shots at Walgreens whenever possible nowadays.

As for roadside assistance, I've always found it far cheaper through my car insurance.  Right now I'm paying  $9.60 per half for this service.

We are going early to help her. She is too busy on her shift to really think about the whole situation. She rarely gets a break with the patient/nurse ratio. She's usually charge nurse and has as many patients as everyone else. They are short handed and have travel nurses there, so they come to her with a lot of questions, too.

Talking about car insurance prompted me to look up info about adding my teens, which led to a bunch of other research, including additional discounts for myself.  So this board just saved me about $30 per half, LOL.

I didn't do the quote for adding the kids, because the eldest won't get her permit until April 2022.  But there was lots of info about teen driving that I will likely tap into soon, while training my kids.

This also made me wonder, when is it possible for kids to get their own separate insurance?  If they get a car on their 16th birthday, can they buy their own separate insurance then?  (Not that mine will have the money for that, but it would be interesting to compare the costs.)

. I think she could join AAA tonight and have them help.  We give gift memberships to all our kids for Christmas

I am about to go wash the sheets  I have to do have dh do that or the cleaning service do that today and I need to order more sheets that will match our winter comforter and awful room color

We also do roadside assist through the insurance; was a tremendous lifesaver when I had a blowout (ran over a long metal piece of something-or-other) while DH was out of the country. Eek!

@SKL, as far as teens getting their own....I know back in the day I was able to have my own when I was 17-ish, and we get letters from our insurance suggesting our son split off onto his own that we've been getting for a few years, since he was about maybe 21 or so....? Not sure.

I wonder if it varies by company....?

When my daughter graduated college this year, our insurance agent said she had to have her own policy since we weren't on the car with her.

I was on my father's insurance until I turned eighteen and then he got me my very own policy because he owned businesses and needed to be protected from me LOL

In our state we're liable for anything that happens if our children are driving our car, so we just kept them on our car insurance.
