ScoutTN Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 (edited) Good morning, tacklers! How is your weather? Temps dropped here and we have frost this morning. I was up way too late and today is busy. My day: Boy to school ✔️ Shower ✔️ Substitute in 4th grade at my church’s school. ✔️ Dinner? Likely take-out or eating out, using up the money I make today, but with our fridge situation, it may be the only option. ✔️ Take Dd to piano rehearsal tonight. Maybe Dh will take her? Piano performance at local college this weekend. ✔️ Edited November 20, 2021 by ScoutTN 4 Quote
mom31257 Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 (edited) @ScoutTN, temps have dropped here, but it's a beautiful day. Lower 30s at night and will be in the lower 20s at night some next week. I'm glad the open house went well! I pray you are able to make it happen for your ds. I slept in this morning after having an awake period during the night. I don't think I can sleep more than 6 hours without waking wide awake. I took my medicine and put a load of clothes in the dryer. breakfast here, lunch and dinner out devotion and scripture shower and get dressed make a shopping list go to sport store to order coaching shirt for dh go up to Cleveland to go shopping and see ds for lunch get with dd about going to see her tomorrow while dh is gone to a tournament might go to the JV game but not the varsity. I couldn't believe how crowded the scrimmage was. Basketball is popular here but vaccination is not. try to find a new series to watch or figure out one to rewatch Edited November 20, 2021 by mom31257 4 Quote
TheReader Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Good morning! It's cold here (by our standards), will be warm again early next week, then cold again, then warm again. We don't ever really get into "stays cold all the time" temps, by most folks' standards. It is sunny though, so that's good. My list today: ....coffee ....prep for/go teach the 5 yr old ....go to the Friendsgiving Sale at the quilt shop I like ....come home, work on quilting my project ....tidy/clean up for the D&D gang tomorrow, and inlaws here on Sunday ....figure out dinner???? .....possibly watch a movie tonight, if the boys all have a break in their homework schedules (finally will watch the 10 Rings Marvel movie....I forget the name) ....maybe remember to go to the PO and mail a small gift package to a friend ....whatever I'm forgetting @mom31257, we just started watching Yellowstone, which is surprisingly good. None of the characters are perfectly likable, it's a little insane, but it's entertaining for sure. 3 1 Quote
MooCow Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 @ScoutTN it's super cold here, our high today is 52, but right now it's in the 30s. It was so cold yesterday I didn't even walk. Must go to the grocery store! School due Sunday Dd spending the night at her bestie's. Youngest is off next week. Dh is feeling under the weather. I think I'm back to sleeping in our bed again. I was just too hot and then too cold in my nest on our couch in our room. So I threw off all my clothes and got in bed and actually slept the whole night and woke up at a decent hour. 4 Quote
TheReader Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Home. Teaching the 5 yr old went well - I decided to use the K American History with her for our "extra" for however long that lasts; should stretch at least this whole school year, maybe more. We'll see. She liked it. Went to the fabric shop; got fabric for a quilt idea for my Grandma, related to the "inputting the blocks" project I was working on this week/will keep working on. Grabbing food and then quilting. Hmm, should tidy first. And make sure middle son is up and working on his school work. But then, quilting. 3 Quote
math teacher Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Good afternoon, everyone. High today is 61-it's still pretty cool right now, but the sun is shining. I woke up a little after 3 and went out and looked at the moon. It was beautiful and so full later in the morning! I've started my Thanksgiving break, and I am sooo looking forward to it. Plans for the rest of today: Dinner-Barbeque brisket sandwiches and chips Make my shopping list Call my parents and mother in law Laundry Clean the floors Clean the bathrooms Dust Whatever else gets done 4 Quote
history-fan Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Weather will get to 40 today and not as windy as yesterday. Will take the dog for another walk. Meeting done, pc's, emails all done yeah. I put off several pc's and finally made myself do them. Laundry 2 loads done. Will try to get all sheets done. Still sorting school books and deciding how to get rid of them, sell-donate. I have so many things to get rid of besides books and homeschool items that I need to learn how to do ebay and etsy. Donation truck will drive through again Dec 2 so I have time to box things up for that. 4 Quote
MooCow Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 I survived the grocery store! And I made two women extremely happy LOL. They were looking at my cart, I was behind them, and they asked if they could come to my Thanksgiving. I said sure I literally live down the street. And I meant it because they were just so nice and happy they just really gave me a good vibe. Anyhow they declined, but while we were in line for over 30 minutes they chit-chatted about it and told the checker LOL. The only thing the grocery store was really out of was anything having to do with pumpkin and turkey gravy. A little bummed because turkeys were on sale for 99 cents a pound and I paid like 30 bucks for my small turkey, but c'est la vie. Also a little annoyed at my son and his wife because I asked for the baby next week and now they want me to watch her tomorrow and I can't I have way too much school work. 3 Quote

ScoutTN Posted November 19, 2021 Author Posted November 19, 2021 (edited) Dd accidentally ordered dinner from a Gyro Spot in NH! 😲 Called them to get a refund and they were super nice! The manager said he'd give the food to someone who could use the hot meal. Dh is picking up our food. Edited November 19, 2021 by ScoutTN Capitalization 3 Quote

TheReader Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Living room is cleaned up, DH took a nap and woke up grumpy and overwhelmed at all we have to do before the D&D gang comes tomorrow and his family on Sunday. Which always annoys the crap out of me, b/c seriously, have I ever even once NOT gotten all the crap done??? so this whole rant/I'm so stressed/we have so much to do (while glaring at me b/c I'm quilting, while he was napping....) just rubs me so.very.wrong. Anyway. downstairs is done (minus the kitchen, but I have to cook, then clean that) Will go check in whether he wants dinner now and bathrooms cleaned later, or bathrooms now and dinner later. Actually, will check with the kids, b/c he ate out for lunch which means he wont' eat dinner anyway. Sorry, vent over. Did I say though -- I got about 80% done with the quilting?!?! On the super special project that I'm hoping to submit to a show?! (the one I was unquilting all week)??? I did. And it's looking freaking amazing so far. so, on to the next thing. DH will chill out by dinner time, I am sure. 3 Quote

mom31257 Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 @ScoutTN, I love when things like that happen (and it goes well). Such good memory maker! @TheReader, I bought some fabric today, too. I bought a little pack of 5 different fabrics. I gave one of my students a project to design a quilt square and to figure out the fractional part each color/design is of the whole square. She said she just got her sewing machine fixed, so she might sew one. I thought maybe I would try one, too. I went to Cleveland today and took ds to lunch. It was nice to spend time with him. I stopped by my new friend's office to check on her sister. Her BIL is big on conspiracy theories and was actually trying to get her out of the hospital. I hope she can stay in and get the care she needs. I enjoyed shopping and found some items but not everything. I am sad, though, because I lost my necklace, which is one a dear friend gave me. I have been using a purse that I wear across my body a lot, and I bet I pulled it off when taking it off. It's not heavy and wouldn't have made noise hitting the ground. 2 Quote
MooCow Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 I just walked. It's super cold so I walked really really fast lol @mom31257 I'm sorry about your necklace @TheReader sorry your husband is being grumpy Did my nails (they look not good, just can't figure out these nail stickers). Did a face mask. Hoping dh goes to bed early. I need a break. 3 Quote
ScoutTN Posted November 20, 2021 Author Posted November 20, 2021 Morning list all done! Got a snack, moved the laundry, and unloaded a cooler into the new fridge. Good timing, since I need that cooler for my turkey tomorrow. The piano rehearsal was fun. We were early and got to listen to two groups before Dd’s. The event is like a piano orchestra. 12 pianos and a conductor on the stage. The music is Christmas duets. Looking forward to the performance on Sunday! Going wind down and read now. Glad to not have to get up early tomorrow, but it will be a busy day. 2 Quote
