Acadie Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 (edited) The Hive has been so helpful for me in understanding the pandemic and sorting out risk and protection for my family. I haven't heard of any post-booster Covid infections at this point, but I do wonder how to assess our risk once we're all boosted (waiting until dd16 is eligible). Please post here any anecdotal information or research that you come across. For anecdotal stories I think this information could be helpful-- 1. Which brand of vaccine and booster? 2. How much time elapsed between the booster and infection? 3. Approximate age and pre-existing conditions? 4. What kind of symptoms did the person have (including long term) and what kind of medical care did they need? Edited November 17, 2021 by Acadie Quote
Katy Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 (edited) I know someone, but diagnosed a week after her booster. I think she was probably infected 2-3 days after her booster based on when her kids got it. She said the booster was worse than the infection. Booster was Pfizer. I forget which shot she had initially. Booster left her in bed for two days with a fever and body aches. Infection was headache and sore throat. For the kids with one shot each too. ETA: early 40’s. No pre-existing risk factors that have been shared with me. No care needed. Edited November 17, 2021 by Katy 1 Quote
whitestavern Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 (edited) Read this article this morning Would be worth trying to track down more information https://m.jpost.com/health-and-wellness/coronavirus/no-matter-how-old-you-are-two-shots-of-pfizer-vaccine-dont-last-study-685141 “Very preliminary data has started to be collected in various studies that shows antibodies are waning after the third shot, too. However, he said that the level of antibodies is not the only factor when it comes to immunity. Officials will need to watch and see if infections start going up.” Edited November 17, 2021 by whitestavern 1 Quote
