I found the perfect gifts for my 21 and 9 year old nieces thanks to the Hive, but that means I need the gifts for my other nieces and nephew to be perfect too.  Plus I have other people I need gifts for.  Does anyone want to help with ideas?

My most pressing needs are:

7 year old girl who likes sports, and things like fairies and unicorns.  Could go either way for a gift.

11 year old girl who is very into sports, particularly lacrosse and hockey, likes legos and photography.  Will reject anything with a hint of “girlyness”.

I’d like to be in the $40-$50 range for those.

Gift for my GFIL who likes things related to food and drink, both cooking and consuming.  He likes things that are beautiful.  Last year, for example, I gave him a beautiful decanter.  A gorgeous serving bowl might be an example of something he would like.

Generic small gifts for older women (55-93) who I don’t know that well but will join our holiday celebration.  Maybe $20 range?

Generic gift ideas for the women: nice set kitchen towels maybe holiday, kitchen linens table runners, napkins, table cloth, pot holder, Trivets, pepper grinder, spice mixes, salt holder, mortar&pestle, French press, frameless candles, scent diffuser, travel mugs,if tea drinkers a tea box if coffee drinkers a coffee grinder, coasters, bird feeder, garden solar light statue. I remember my mom and her friends talking about going to so many wedding showers and they thought that it would be fun to have what they called “marriage showers” so that all their old stuff could get replaced with fun new stuff. I think they were all tired of getting lotions and notecards….lol

for gfil a nice serving tray or lazy Susan. Williams Sonoma has really nice ones so does etsy.

11yo- if has cell phone a mini tripod, if has slr lens filters.
9yo Etsy and red bubble have cute unicorn tshirts, saw cute wooden unicorn puzzles by unidragon

So many Lego sets out there.

Are the 7 and 11 yo in the same family? Would they maybe like to share a backyard sporty gift like a tetherball set or something? When my kids were in that range, I always thought all the backyard stuff on Hearthsong looked amazing - all those cool obstacle course things and ziplines and so forth. I was jealous that we didn't have the backyard for that.

I'm stuck for my 17 yo. Maybe around $100... He likes video games, EDM music, baseball hats with flat brims, craft sodas, arguing with people belligerently... He's not really into clothes. I got him a gaming keyboard and a gaming mouse already. He's going to college next year. I hope.

If you find a gift related to arguing belligerently please send it my way.  My arguers are only 11 but they are gifted in that department.

I loved Hearthsong when our kids were little!

Our German exchange student is coming to visit over Christmas. I have a Texas bottle stopper I could give him, but I'm not sure it's appropriate for an 18 yo. I also thought maybe a Where's Waldo type book looking for his cat. Otherwise, I'm stuck. My kids are giving him sweatshirts and t shirts. He's studying Physics at the university, was big into water polo when he lived here, is converting a van to a camper, and plays the French horn. Looking at spending about $50.

Soda subscription box.  When I searched a lot came up for that.  Plus there are soda packs on Amazon from different countries.

Photography related ideas,  would depend on what she uses for pics, what she wants to do with pics, and what she already has- Money for good editing software, photo box (to take pics in, some have a changeable background), tripod, ring lights (my DD has a small one that bends all around and a bigger one that goes on a tripod), green screen (lots of fun,  but you need a good editor), camera accessory depending on type of camera (like underwater case, extra lens)

My hubby who is into audio quality likes his DAC. You can get a Bluetooth one at that price point.

He let the kiddos try his set up and notice the difference.

Headphone with mic, headphone stand, if doesn't like headphone with mic good microphone, speakers. I have 1 ds likes headphones with mic and 1 ds that prefers stand alone mic and speakers. A second monitor.

You already said you got a mouse, I was looking at vertical mouse for one.

World Market as well. They usually have a lot of singles, so you don't have to commit to a six pack of weird soda.

Clearly you don't understand that the weird six packs are part of the fun!

So, yesterday late, I agreed to take him to Frederick for a hike and to get a ton of sodas. He wheedled and said things like "but it's my lassst year at hoooome." Lol. Last year, I bought 48 sodas and made a soda advent calendar for himself and his brother. He honestly asks for so little that when he does ask for stuff, I tend to cave in. So no sodas for Christmas!

Can you throw some interesting brands and flavors? My kids love soda (of course) and I try not to have it much, but that might be fun for Christmas.

For anyone looking for gifts that are kitchen or food related, I'd recommend the food52.com website.  They also have general home items plus camping/patio items ~ most with a focus on food or cooking, but other things too.   Lots of really interesting ideas, and their products are so nice!

My kids like the unusual Stewart's flavors that are harder to find. And they like Moxie (so confusing - it's supposed to be really gross). They think Dad's is pretty good. World Market sells a variety 6 pack that includes sodas of America or something like that - and they say all those are pretty good. Unless you have a soda shop near you, I think that's usually the best bet. Our closest one is almost an hour away, but apparently we're going! My kids were first introduced to the idea of an all soda shop in Kansas City and keep seeking them out. There's a good on in Raleigh, a candy shop soda shop combo in Pittsburgh, and this one that we have been to a couple times out in Frederick, MD. I'm sure there's a bunch more though! They're really fun.

Weirdly, in my neighborhood the Ace Hardware store has a huge variety of obscure sodas. I'm not sure if that is a local thing.

Funny, we just heard about Moxie for the first time last night. We are watching a YouTube channel of a family hiking the Appalachian trail and they were served Moxie in Maine.

This is where we get ours. Oldest Dd loves their vintage-style cream sodas.

I could use ideas for my 16 year old who loves dragons (but has very specific ideas about them, so not all generic dragon things work), role playing, and watching an amazing and eclectic variety of YouTube channels that are largely pretty educational.  And memes.  She likes memes.  I have the new D&D dragon supplement that just came out, but I'm having trouble coming up with other ideas.

If she a Critical Role fan?  If so, they have merch.

An automatic pot stirrer. It is on my Christmas list. I would feel like Molly Weasley.

I have to come up with something for my 19 yr old.  To quote him-  he wants something but doesn’t know what it is. It may be another year of wrapped ramen, soda and tea. Lol.

Now to figure out what to get my dearest friend who wants and needs nothing.  I know the charities she donates too but for some reason this year it feels so impersonal.

All right. I could use everyone's creative brains. My 12dd is very into art/drawing. She has covered her ceiling and all her walls with drawings. I'd love to find some sort of portfolio or organizer for all this paper (most are 8.5x11). What do artists use? A large portfolio with papers just stuffed inside? A binder with plastic inserts? Something else? Also, additional artsy gift ideas see appreciated.

So, drawings on loose paper were the bane of my existence. We’ve totally made the switch to sketchbooks for ease of storage.   That said, when we were still dealing with tons of loose paper, I would bind them into books with my Pro Click. Maybe something like that would be fun? A way she can make them into books? (If she’s open to punching holes down one side…)

It's an art frame that will hold multiple pieces of paper, so you have one on display and then it serves as storage. As she makes more art you just put the newest one in front, and it will help keep everything safe when not on "display." I guess when it gets full you can transfer to something else. But you can have a living gallery of sorts that changes as much as she wants without having papers having to be put away constantly.

eta: we use accordion organizers for 8.5x11 artwork. I've found some nice ones at dollar stores actually, and CVS. I think if you go to Office Depot they have nice-nice ones, like faux leather types.

I have an art portfolio case. They come in different sizes. Mine is leather and has hard sides so it doesn’t bend and has padding on each side, and it is around 2ft x3 ft maybe even bigger. I’ve used it a lot over the years.
