The landscaping guy still hasn't come, so I got out there and raked the driveway, sidewalk, and deck. I got all the front stuff to the curb for pick up today. We've never had leaves to deal with. Whew, that is work! Maybe I need to rake every week. It would be good exercise! We do have a blower, but it's windy, and I've never used it. I figure that isn't a good combination. It's going to rain, so I didn't want all that being tracked in the house. More will come down, but maybe it won't be as bad as it was.

I finished one Zoom and am about to start the next.

Good morning!

I have made b'fast and coffee, taken Dd to her appointment, and printed some info for Ds to use for a science assignment. Doesn't seem like much done for 10:15.

To do:
Pick up dd.
Prep for AHG. Badge Ceremony tonight!
Find that police report and get it to the insurance company!
YNAB?
Pack supper for me and Dd.

Dd to dance.
AHG tonight.

No matter how hard I try, I can never get all leaves picked up

Eta: it's a really tall tree, our neighborhood has all the trees!

ordered a leather ruler wrap bracelet from Etsy using an Etsy gift card a friend sent for my bday last month; I've been eyeing those for a while. I got the turquoise one, double wrap (so 17").

Made chx noodle soup for lunch. Also hard boiled some egg.
Made flu shot appts for me and kids. Dh got his at work. Sad that Publix no longer gives $10 gift cards for getting vaccines there.

Next up:

Start the dishwasher
Get my things organized for tonight.
Look online for that police report!

Howdie, happy Thursday (or Friday Eve as some optimists would say).

It is a ridiculously beautiful day here.  Like what did I do to deserve this?  It's kinda sad because we know it is so fleeting.  Like the Diamond Rio song "one more day."

One more day, one more time
One more sunset, maybe I'd be satisfied
But then again, I know what it would do
Leave me wishing still for one more day with you

Well anyway ... the day didn't start out so super.  My 15yo, knowing she was guilty of making us all leave late, was short and sassy beyond her usual sassy self, so I gladly granted her stated desire to (a) not be looked at by me and (b) not hear from me.  Sigh.  To be fair, I too get the impulse to hit out (verbally) when I'm feeling defensive.  But, I'm supposed to be trying to raise good humans.  Anyhoo, she is usually over herself fairly soon after I drop her off, so here's hoping the evening is better.

And, I realized several hours in that I don't need to be stressed out about my clients, because most if not all of them have the day off.  😛

Done:

  • Kids driven to school - on time by the grace of God.
  • Walked the pup, again a little farther than yesterday.
  • Did about a third of my "yoga etc." routine.  Hope to finish later when I don't have a puppy present.
  • Took a second walk, without the pup, because a housemate threw pup's ball too far and it rolled waaay down the street ... then into some tall grass ....  It was a privilege to take a stroll in the middle of this beautiful fall day.
  • Cleaned the kitchen.
  • Called the dentist because Kid2 has lost her final Invisalign trays.
  • Various minor communications with various people.
  • Caught up on emails, news, electronic school stuff, calendar, and social media.
  • Day 2 of introducing the pup to the nail grinder.  Made a little progress, have a lot to go.  🙂
  • A bit of client work.

To do:

  • Lots of client work.
  • Pick up the girls.
  • Kid2 to horse riding.
  • Make the kids do their homework, pup duty, and some light housework.
  • I have a 6pm virtual meeting re my kids' graduation requirements.  (Almost forgot that!)
  • Basically all the kid things I wanted us to do yesterday but didn't get to.  Or some of them.
  • Laundry.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Up from a very long nap - hoping my mildly scratchy throat is allergy related or something, and not due to the "I have a sore throat" kid I had in class on Monday who was "definitely not sick" according to their family....

Started laundry

Talked with DS about not holding hands with his friend/girlfriend at youth group events, as apparently that is not allowed; assured him it was fine with us otherwise/other places and he's not in any trouble, just has to follow the rules now that he's aware of them

Grabbing some afternoon coffee and a snack, then heading up to do school with DS (he's finishing up a project on Scratch, so I told him we'd meet up at 2:30 to get to work....)

No luck on the police report and their offices are closed today so I cannot get a real person on the phone. Really hope I don't have to drive over an hour to the other side of town for this.

Moving on:

Loading my car.
Prepping clothes for tonight.

@SKL, I get it. It's hard to see our own weaknesses in our kids and then correct them for it but harder to try and not be that way in front of them.

@ScoutTN, hope you don't have to drive that far to get the report.

I finished the Zoom sessions

I went to the store.

I did the cleaning in all the main living areas.

I heard from the lawn guy, but he still hasn't come. At the rate we're going, ds can do it when he comes home for Thanksgiving break, but who knows how thick it will be by then.

I totally spaced it on my exam. I literally ran out of time which I never do, and had a panic attack and ended up marking questions wrong even though I knew the answers...Oy vy. Got an 82 out of 100, blech.

We're not going to meet our neighbor for dinner because she got her booster shot yesterday and is running a fever even though she took Tylenol.

Youngest had to fix a computer at school and he is really hoping he didn't accidentally delete his bibliography.

Dinner? Make their own I assume

((hugs, @MooCow).  I hope your evening is a nice one and you can relax a bit.

I went with DH to run errands, he's doing school with DS now, I will bump my stuff till tomorrow, and I am going up to swap laundry and work on the quilt. DH was in a funk so needed the company, which did help, so all is well.

Waiting for Dd at dance. Last class of the semester, I think. And only two more AHG meetings (after tonight) in 2021.

Looking forward to less driving and fewer evenings out.

@MooCow, I'm sorry you had a hard time during the test! Hope you are feeling better.

We had a really good time with our new friends. They live over 45 minutes away, so I'm not sure how much we'll get together. But I do think we will some.

The dishwasher and washing machine are both going.

Home from AHG. Ceremony was fun and shoebox packing was good too.

Dealing with a very grouchy boy and a grouchy Dh. Not fun to come home to.

Folded laundry.
Sorted a backpack and found a missing Chemistry assignment!

Going to make tea, read, and go to bed. (I am a broken record, aren’t I? I say that almost every night.)
