Quarter Note Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 (edited) I think I've fallen in love with these Botanical Harvest Pumpkin dishes , but I've never had stoneware before. Pottery Barn doesn't put reviews up on their website, which makes me a little wary of buying from them. Any experience with either stoneware dishes in general, or Pottery Barn dishes in particular? These dishes would not necessarily be every-single-meal everyday dishes, but I would still want to use them throughout the fall, not just for Thanksgiving only. Thanks! Miss Tick Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 It looks very festive! We have Denby stonewear that has been in daily use here for 20+ years. I chipped one coffee cup 19.5 years ago, now I always know which cup is mine. Two bowls have broken. That's it. The white eating surface on my pattern has some faint marks which must be transfer from cutlery, but no chips. I have 3 teens at home, so everything has gotten a lot of (not always gentle) use. When we were shopping for it, we asked the proprietor, "will it break easily?" She grabbed a coffee mug and whacked it multiple times in the edge of the counter! 😳 It didn't have any damage. All that said, will durability carry from manufacturer to manufacturer? Probably. Quote
2_girls_mommy Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 Anything that was stoneware for us was always prone to chipping in our dishwasher. They always clanged together unless we were very careful to put things in between them, which isn't practical for everyday use. So I switched to plain white Corelle plates awhile ago. They are cheap and easy to replace if one breaks, and they don't chip easily. Quote
