EmilyGF Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 I've been wearing my husband's for a few years and want my own! I have bought two (Eddie Bauer and Lands' End) in women's sizes and the fabric is so THIN! Does anyone sell flannel shirts for women (so, narrower shoulders, wider bust) that aren't paper thin? Bonus if they come in tall. 🙂 This seems to be a tradition now; the yearly attempt at buying a thick flannel shirt online. I hate stores. Emily Quote
Katy Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 All the "heavyweight" women's flannel I see online is sold out. I think I would buy a men's in whatever size you need for your bust and have it taken in to fit your shoulders, arms, and waist. 1 Quote
Tap Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Try Carhartt brand. Sierra trading post online or Amazon are both places to look if you don’t have a Carhartt store nearby 1 Quote
Lawana Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Llbean chamois shirt. Doesn’t come in tall. I think chamois is thicker than flannel. 1 Quote
FirstLorelei Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Look at what they're calling "shackets" this year. It's a portmanteau of shirt and jacket. 2 Quote
Laura Corin Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 I've bought thick ones from LE in recent years but they carry different weights, so I have to be careful. 2 Quote
fraidycat Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 (edited) Try farm & ranch stores. tractorsupply.com https://www.tractorsupply.com/  fleetfarm.com https://www.fleetfarm.com/category/clothing-footwear/womens-clothing/workwear/_/N-4025318210  Edited October 28, 2021 by fraidycat Quote
Selkie Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 I have some from LL Bean that are a few years old. Not sure if they still have them, though. 3 Quote
Idalou Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Tractor Supply has thicker ones for about $15. They have Carharrt flannels with a hood that are thick, but those were closer to $50 1 Quote
Doodlebug Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Costco had some Orvis flannel shirts on sale. OOh, here they are. $19.99 I ordered some for Christmas gifts. 😉  Quote
alisoncooks Posted October 29, 2021 Posted October 29, 2021 We’ve found all our favorite flannel shirts at thrift stores. Idk if that’s an option or not… Quote
HS Mom in NC Posted October 29, 2021 Posted October 29, 2021 Amazon has a selection of fleece lined flannel shirts if you want really warm ones.https://www.amazon.com/s?k=fleece+lined+womens+flanel+shirts&ref=nb_sb_noss Quote
popmom Posted October 29, 2021 Posted October 29, 2021 (edited) LL Bean for the win. I have a men’s button down and a women’s flannel zip hoodie. I love them both. Quality. ETA: I avoid fleece at all costs due to micro plastics being released into the water supply. I’m trying to stick to natural fibers. It’s hard. It’s my personal decision, and I don’t expect the rest of my fam to give up fleece. 😉 Edited October 29, 2021 by popmom 1 Quote
Guest Posted October 29, 2021 Posted October 29, 2021 Ll Bean or Duluth. I have an LL Beam one I bought last year and it’s very warm. Duluth is my go-to for rugged clothes that perform really well. Quote
