Good morning! Amy, I hope your dh's finger isn't broken!

Today I am playing hooky a bit and going to Quilt Festival for the day!! Yay! DH is coming with. I'm going to a lecture put on by the organizer of a quilt exhibit that I'm actually trying to enter for the upcoming year, then we will hit a few booths to shop (I have a list; I learned early on, nothing I've ever just randomly found by walking around ended up being a wise purchase, so now I stick to my list and ignore the rest) and then will just wander and look at quilts all day. Should be fun!

So, my day:
...pack us a lunch
...look up/note down the booth numbers for the booths I do want to shop at
....look up/note down the location/room number for the lecture I want to attend
....eat some breakfast
...(coffee, already in progress)
....gather swatches of the fabric used on the quilt project, so I can match thread (I'm taking the project, too, as it's small, but if the booth is crowded maybe even a small project will be too big to pull out and match thread....)
....go to Quilt Festival, have a blast
....come home, find food for dinner, veg out

Got the booth numbers; the class location is not posted online so will have to find it when I get there; gathered swatches of fabric; made the lunch; took a shower. Grabbing a bite, waiting on DH to get off a call, and then off we go!

Amy, I hope your husband's finger is not broken and heals quickly/  ScoutTN, I hope your son doesn't have a COVID.  The Reader- A quilt festival sounds really fun!  I love quilts and would love to actually finish the quilt I started making in a quilt shop that closed or moved.  I made sure when dh and I went on our long anniversary trip last year to ND,SD, NE in particular but also saw lots of other places along the way to make sure we stopped in Paducah to visit the National Quilt Museum.  We both really liked it.

My Enbrel came yesterday and maybe it is already working--it is raining and I am not in terrific pain and haven't taken any more steroids, any pain meds, etc.  I can really hope it helps

Cleaners are here so I need to be moving around when they  come to the office.

Have to deal with medication refills, reminders, etc

Fax EOB and claim form to Supplemental insurance ( I made a correct decision to start a fax subscription)

finish Death on the Nile==have less than 40 pages left

figure out how to make dinner

call to IRS

watch Parasite- another try today- yesterday, Dh didn\t want to watch because his energy was too low

Before I called IRS, I checked again if my refund was coming.  Still being processed is the answer.  Also, they changed the refund status page which you first see when you go to Where's My Refund to now say 90-120 days.  Which means I need to call if we don't get it by Dec 2.

Howdie, happy Thursday!

Today is my folks' anniversary, and I sent them all white flowers yesterday.  Today they say it's going to be delivered but they had to make substitutions (but didn't specify what substitutions).  So I hope it still ends up all white!  So annoying!

I have some client work coming due, so I need to get more focused and send things out.

Pup is being sweet and quiet for the most part.

Done:

  • Kids to school on time, yay!  Still keeping that perfect attendance record (4 days) but Kid1 was running a bit slow ... I feel like she's backsliding ... need to nip that in the bud.
  • Cleaned up the crap my kid left in my front seat last night.  I swear she is Pigpen.  I really don't understand how a person can leave so much mess in her wake all the time.
  • Walked the dog and other pup stuff.
  • Cleaned the kitchen.  It was kind of messy because the above-mentioned kid has been making waffles in the mornings lately.
  • Caught up on emails, news, calendar, social media, and electronic school stuff.
  • Paid a few bills.
  • A small amount of client work.

To do:

  • Lots more client work.
  • Exercise, reading, training the pup.
  • Call my folks for their anniversary.  Ask about the flowers.  Figure out if/when we should visit them this weekend.  Text my sister re same.
  • Kid2 to horse riding.
  • Kid1 has a chiropractor appointment.
  • Should I force Kid1 to participate in the Halloween treat thingy her soccer team is doing, or at least drop off a bag of candy?
    • Maybe stop at Walgreens for this and some pill boxes to help us all remember daily supplements.  And laundry soap.  And greeting cards.
  • Try to find out info for tomorrow's marching band gig.
  • Make the kids clean the backseat of the car, do homework, pup duty, and some household tasks.
  • Probably some laundry.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Got the slideshow done.

Did not log sessions yet.

AHG stuff loaded into the car we’ll take tonight. Can’t use mine bc the back won’t open due to yesterday’s wreck.

@TravelingChris My son just has a cold, but his school requires a covid test to return to school after being out with even one symptom. CVS is fast, close, and easy.

Cleaned up the kitchen and started the dishwasher.

Home,  napped, lunched/snacked (we ate a packed lunch there, but I needed more substantial food when I got up). It was good; smaller than previous years -- only took less than 2 hours to see all the quilts. Now, I did not look *closely* at all the quilts, as I do when on my own, and which takes longer. But still.

Also, I've learned to only shop at booths where I know I will use what I buy, so only even stopped at 2 booths. Success at both (5 yards of unique over-dyed fabric, and got to meet the fabric artist who does them; she buys commercial prints/fabrics and then dyes them/overdyes them, and they are so lovely).  Oh, also bought the thread I need to quilt the quilt, along with some additional colors, and went to a lecture put on by the exhibit I'm trying to enter, and met the chair of that, and showed her the in-progress quilt that's to be the submission, and she loved it. So, yay!

(all in all, we were there about 4 hours, but an hour of that was the lecture). It was a good day.

Now I'm going to peek at my K/1st stuff I think and get a head start on that for tomorrow.

Got the easy stuff printed for Monday, for K & 1st

Throwing together dinner of leftover bits of veggies we haven't used yet, leftover cooked veggies we had, and some chicken sausage (I don't know what we thought we'd do, as we thought we'd be barely getting home from Quilt Festival.....)

After we eat, the guys are going to video game and I am either going to play with my new goodies or watch some TV; I'm fighting off a headache, so probably the TV, but we'll see. I'm itching to play some....

@SKL, happy anniversary to your parents!

@TheReader, glad it was a fun and productive event.

Dh has a ruptured tendon, so he is being sent to an orthopedic surgeon tomorrow about an hour away from here. So I'll go with him. He is still going to work until time to leave because they are short on subs. He has practice at 6AM, too. And they are supposed to leave at 5 tomorrow to take the girls to a corn maze and to have a bonfire. I'm not sure if rain will cancel that, but it could end up an 18 hour day, so I kind of hope so.

My younger sister called and we talked for almost 3 hours. I haven't got much done other than dinner.

Got the personal stuff accomplished today, and some of the client stuff.

Sleepy!

Today I'm grateful for rain.  I don't enjoy the kind of cold rain that's falling right now, but where would we be without rain?
