Nothing much up here in Maine. It’s a perfect (to me) fall day— cool, crisp, windy and drizzly. Had a bunch of rain earlier but nothing of note.

Hope everyone who got hit is safe!

eta I just read that several thousand homes in the state are without power. That’s not bad for an October storm here, but ofc still sucks for everyone affected.

Ds1 is in Boston and has been without power since last night.  He had a feast this morning eating the food out of the refrigerator before it was all spoiled.

I'm in New Jersey.  We had a bit of rain and some rivers are flooding but nothing too bad.  I don't think we have much in the way of power outages, although a few schools closed from flooding.

Now he says the winds are keeping any work from being done on power lines so it could be a long time before they get power back.

I hope he’s warm and safe. It sounds like at least he’s well fed! 🙂

Hoping he is ok.  Is it cold there?

He is very well fed.  His gf works in human resources for a very big food franchise and they have been in one of the restaurants all day eating free food, watching tv, and enjoying the wifi.  🙂

It is cold!  I asked him if he's staying in his apt. overnight and he said he doesn't expect it to be too bad but I don't see how - it was only in the 40s today with wind.  He was gone all day.

OH no.  I hope they can get the power back on soon.

We're north of Boston. I saw some tree branches down, but that's about it here.

However, my kitchen ceiling was leaking again. This used to happen during very windy/rainy storms when we first bought the house, but we had it fixed a few years back. I guess I'll be calling to have it fixed again. Grumble grumble grumble...

We're in MD so got the storms yesterday. Nothing major here but a tree did fall down on our deck. Well really it just sort of laid down and didn't damage anything

How fortunate!

Our yard is surrounded by giant, ancient trees that don't belong to us and I dread the day one of them falls onto our house. It seems inevitable, honestly. One of my favorite things about the house we owned before this one was that there were no trees anywhere near the house—brought me so much peace of mind during the wicked storms we would get.

Our trees are polite.  Our neighbor's tree on the the other hand isn't as kind.  Last winter it fall onto our huge 16 by 20 shed. We do have one tree that looks like it won't last if there is a heavy snow or ice storm.  So, we're gonna have to get it cut down before winter

Power out, now restored. Internet out, now restored. Power surge knocked out control panel of furnace. Not restored yet, and we are bracing for $$$ estimate. Cursing the current parts shortage.

And listing again the many people and things we do have to be grateful for. ❤️

I just heard about the storm on the east coast and the loss of power.  I hope everyone out there is doing ok.

I changed jobs and work for a landscaping company. I spent a large portion of today rescheduling deliveries for a day that’s NOT tomorrow. They didn’t want giant trucks full of firewood rolling around MD and DC during a typhoon. I have tomorrow off and my plan is to stay in PJs ALL day. I think our rain begins in the wee hours of the morning.

Either it didn’t rain here or I completely blocked it out.

There was like six inches of rain in my chicken feed bucket in the morning. Although I may be wrong about the night; I think it was the night before last actually. But we lost power for a few hours and it poured buckets.

I wanna say it rained Monday, but it’s been a long week and I thought yesterday was nice. I don’t even know anymore. 🤪

Same here. I am a mess before every major storm because of this (we don't have a basement/interior room either, just a tiny closet for all 5 of us). I just hope we get out of here before the inevitable happens.
