Just finished a wonderful book, The Arbornaut, by Meg Loman a tree canopy scientist who has studied leaves and canopy ecology on multiple continents for decades. This is one of the few living books I have come across that has gone in depth about how the scientist designed her research studies and obstacles that came up along the way that had to be worked around. A great supplement to both ecology study and learning about how "boots on the ground" or in this case "boots way above the ground" scientists use the scientific method.

This sounds wonderful!

I also use “T. Rex and the Crater of Doom” in my history of science class (I didn’t think that one up; it’s recommended in SWB’s History of Western Science, which we use as a spine).
