Kalmia Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 Just finished a wonderful book, The Arbornaut, by Meg Loman a tree canopy scientist who has studied leaves and canopy ecology on multiple continents for decades. This is one of the few living books I have come across that has gone in depth about how the scientist designed her research studies and obstacles that came up along the way that had to be worked around. A great supplement to both ecology study and learning about how "boots on the ground" or in this case "boots way above the ground" scientists use the scientific method. https://www.amazon.com/Arbornaut-Discovering-Eighth-Continent-Trees/dp/0374162697/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3T26L71T22RIM&keywords=the+arbornaut&qid=1635179170&sprefix=the+arbornaut%2Caps%2C126&sr=8-1 4 2 Quote

I also use “T. Rex and the Crater of Doom” in my history of science class (I didn’t think that one up; it’s recommended in SWB’s History of Western Science, which we use as a spine). 2 Quote
