Really slow start but did at least return message to my counselor and wrote a great review about her on Betterhelp.  I will be getting a session today or tomorrow.

Great news is that my rheumatologist is fantastic and she got my prior authorization done very fast.  And Express Scripts called me last night to schedule and I will be getting Enbrel on Tuesday.  Yeah!

Awaiting call back from Surgery nurse regarding pre-op testing appt at the hospital and the first appt after the surgery which will be on the 29th of November.

Done-  just spent 20 minutes with dh picking pants and shirt to go with his new jacket and even assuring him that maroon wingtips go well with what we picked.  And I need to make sure I remove the shirts that do not fit which he insisted on putting back.  It turned out that one of his favorite shirts that was too small was the same as the shirt that we finally chose and he refuses to believe that the fact that he puts everything on high heat in the dryer ruins clothes and shrinks clothes.  I showed him the skirt that I am wearing that he had washed and dried at some point- it ruined the waist band that has elastic in it.  It is now all lumpy in areas and it is that way with several of my skirts.

Howdie, happy Thursday!  Another gorgeous fall day, with the full moon brightly visible on our morning drive.

I'm hoping for a relatively quiet Thursday compared to yesterday.

Done:

  • Kids to school ... we left earlier, but they somehow still managed to be tardy.  The stop-and-go traffic jam was 0.8 miles long!  Ridiculous!  The kids entered the building at exactly bell time but were still marked tardy.  As for leaving still earlier, tell that to my OCD kid.  I try!
  • Pup stuff including a half-mile, brisk, hilly walk.
  • Part of my yoga etc.
  • Washed dishes etc.
  • Finished some client work and filing.
  • Caught up on news, emails, social media, calendar, and electronic school stuff.

To do:

  • Lots more client work.
  • More pup duty
  • Kids - last day for them to catch up on their homework for the quarter.
  • There is a haunted house by and for the marching band this evening.  One kid says she might not want to go considering recent nightmares.  We'll see.
  • A little reading.
  • More housework, pup duty, and exercise.
  • Whatever else gets done.

DH is covering the grocery run later on his way home from a work thing

Oldest came down for help with getting a med refill.  it grieves me so much that he repeatedly needs help with that (as in, from one time of needing her to call another refill to the next, he forgets how to navigate that part of her website)

Halfway-ish done with K prep, feeling very unmotivated, but plugging along

So the nurse advocate was very minimally helpful== the only thing she was able to do was explain to me the procedure to get home health aid.  She couldn't/wouldn't help with getting explanation of surgery, wouldn't help with my whole billing issue w/the heart center ( they have just increased the amounts on one of the bills by almost 50 dollars and sent the other two bills with the same amount and I only owe them the amount of one of the bills but not any others)  Nor could she help with bad claim response by Tricare either.

When I was fretting about whiting out procedure codes, dh pointed out by looking at the bill that 2 procedures aren't charged and there is only a charge for medication management while the other two are free.  So I called Tricare Humana claims (and the procedure to get a human in claims is very annoying)  and got a second very competent person this week who did understand the issue and is waiting for higher ups to resolve the wrong denial of claim, plus they got my name wrong on their form letter to me too.

Okay, finished the K stuff. Saving 1st for another day/time.

Bought & printed my Quilt Festival  tickets for next week. Yay!

Putting away all my mess, and then going to either nap or do something fun before I do school with DS.

I'm supposed to take it easy and limit my activity for blood pressure.  So here's the plan for today.

-homeschool kids from couch

-drop off S's glasses to get fixed on the way to

-r's physical therapy

-make the girls clean their room

-post the instruments on craigslist, put them all away in the downstairs closet in the meantime

-preshrink baby quilt fabric

-phone call to-do list:

~make dr appointments (1 for me, cardiologist for ds7, flue shots for kids)

~call plumber & pest control

~call to pay medical bills

Got lunch at CfA.

At the laundromat. Doing things on my phone and watching a H&GTV house show. These house shoppers are so picky. Not the same universe I live in.

Renewed some annual donations.

Did some research on the career technical program for medical stuff at my kids' high school.  Looks interesting.  But I have questions.  For example, can they decide on year 2 after trying year 1?  Also, if the tech course is 3 credits, do any count as science?  They are supposed to somehow get college-prep science, math, English, social studies, and foreign language in the 11th grade, so adding 3 credits on top of that would mean no study hall nor lunch?  I will recommend to my daughter to attend the open houses and ask about it.  (The foreign language wouldn't be an issue if they didn't cancel her 9th grade Spanish class in favor of virtual academy students ....)

Randomly ran through the house with my pup for several minutes.  That counts as exercise, right?

Slowly chipping away at my work to-dos.

@Condessa, welcome to the tackle thread! This thread helps me stay motivated, so I hope it will be good for you, too. I'm sorry you are having the blood pressure issues.

Last Zoom session is done.

I'm very sleepy, so a nap might be in order.

SKL, yes, running with the puppy counts as exercise.

Amy, I'm heading for a nap too -- went up and was working on the quilting project. Got one side done, started the next side, kept losing track of where I was/where I needed to stitch next. Oye.

DH should be home momentarily, so trying to wait on that, otherwise the dogs will just go nuts and jar me awake out of the nap anyway.

Oh, and Oldest ran out of his meds "yesterday or else the day before" and just started this process for the refill today. I told him then probably I need to take back over managing his meds for him (2nd time he's done this, let himself run out before calling it in). Hopefully his doctor calls it in today; she doesn't work on Fridays, so it's either today or not until  Monday.

No nap here.  I was watching the local news at lunch and today a better study came out on risks for cognitive decline -turns out the sweet spot of sleeping is what I normally do- 4.5 to 6.5 hours of actual sleep because they used EEGS.   That is just like what Fitbit measures though it is not as accurate- but it does show that people awake during the night even if they do not remember and doesn't count those times.  And since I have foggy states not correlated with sleep amounts, I think I will keep trying to hit that spot of sleeping.  And my kids never slept as much as experts claimed babies needed- and I know I didn't either -can't remember as a baby but do remember that I had to be very imaginative at night and would try to do things like play very quietly, or look at books - read them when I was older.

Just did an instacart order.

Now am going to call the Heart Center billing.

@TheReader, I hope he can get that refill today. Dd didn't manage taking meds for her POCS very well and is taking none now. She didn't run out of pills, but she just wouldn't take them. She needs to go to a doctor but can't seem to make herself make an appointment. She is doing well on her job but not managing her own life. I've offered to help at least make appointments, and she seems to be considering that. Her thyroid was enlarged and hasn't been checked in over 2 years.

I took a short nap.

I never got a shower this morning, so I just got that.

Dh told me his school is having a theater production tonight and Saturday night and wondered if we might go. It's Little Women, so I would love it. I just don't know how crowded it will be. I wish I could quit worrying. We're both vaccinated. He's been in schools all last year and this year without getting it or bringing it home to me. At church we've been able to distance pretty well. Maybe we could in this as well.

Well that would be really good news because yes, that is pretty much my sleep totals. I average 5 1/2.  Good luck with billing. Yuck.

Thanks, Amy; luckily it's not one that has super dire consequences, I don't think, if he misses a couple of days. He has one half dose remaining, but I think I'll have him take that on Saturday to try and stagger things out just in case, if the refill doesn't come in.

Took a long nap, now heading to do school with DS.

Did school with DS.

Oldest's doctor was able to get him in this afternoon and call in his refill, yay! He's lost 20 pounds since she last had him weigh (maybe 2 or so visits ago...?) - yikes.  DH thinks our change in diet explains it.

Dinner is in the oven; debating whether to go to fencing or stay home. I have a runny nose, am still tired, and can't decide if I'm getting a sore throat or just imagining it. DH has a sore leg. Typing it out....we should skip. We'll see.

Bought a very nice red shirt at a boutique I like to patronize.  I went in their once last Fall and found out the woman running it immigrated to the US from Poland when she was 8.  I was born here but had 2 Polish parents.  Anyway, boutiques have been doing very badly in my city since so many companies and most of the fed govt is still working at home.

Then dh and I went shopping at Fresh Market where we got a Roast Chicken for 5, and a very complete dinner kit with shrimp, pasta, veggies, sauce, bread crumbs and bread for 4 (actually stuff like the bread crumbs lasts longer- especially since if you chose the chicken- you may have used breadcrumbs but with shrimp?? Plus a few other items but dh wanted to get out early to evade the pounding rain but we didn\t make it.

Set up our HBO and also recorded a number of movies on our FUBO.

adjusted tip of Instacart-which arrived after dinner and I put it away

NOw off to watch the final episode of Expanse and then?????

@TheReader, hope you feel better!

@Condessa, hope you managed to get everything done and keep your BP in check!

Dh and I did go to the production at his school. It was a musical version of Little Women in a one act play. They are doing it for a competition next week. It was good, and a couple of the students really made the show.

I'm off to watch something on our Cinemax free trial.

I'm grateful we are safe. A bad thunderstorm just came up with a tornado warning in the southern part of the county. The storm is moving southeast away from us. Praying no one is hurt by it.

I took kid to the grocery store, and on the way back she requested her first driving lesson.  We went to a completely empty and deserted old parking lot and did a few basics.  Nobody died.  😛

What I'm grateful for today:  my kid told me that when she and I talk, it makes her happy.  🙂

@TravelingChris Glad the medical stuff worked out in your favor, but uggh all the hastle.

@SKL AWE... anytime a kid loves  to talk with you is worthy of celebrating!!!!

@mom31257 I am glad you went to the show. That was my advice, though I never posted it. Glad it was enjoyable.  Hope everyone is safe from the storms.

My praise yesterday is that it was a decent day for my mom with more energy.
