Good morning everyone!   I was having a good morning, ate breakfast, took some meds but not all, vsaving some for after I got home. We went to pick up dh's truck which was ready last night but I couldn't help doing it last night.  Then when I was driving home, I wanted to go to get my eyeglasses fixed since the little rubber piece on the nose part fell off on one side and they opened at 9 am.  But after parking, I knew I had to go home to prevent a disaster in the store.  I got home, and gastro disaster happened-- Cleaning me and everything up wore me out.  Plus I am now out one underwear, one pair of pants, and one pair of flip flops.  Can I say I hate my autoimmune diseases? At least I guess I am lucky- I have only had this level of disaster about 4 times since the first time around 2007. Oh and his is not bacterial or viral in origin either because I have had those kinds and they make your abdomen hurt, it keeps happening over and over and over.  This really doesn't=== I figure it is from my dysautonomia.

Take more meds including ones that reduce chances for this to happen but have to check which interact with coumadin

Log onto Quarantine Book Club Zoom meeting

More later

@TexasProud What degree program are you in? I’d love to know how you ended up as a seminary student.

I am getting a master's in media and worship. Our youngest was in high school when I was looking to the future. We always said that when our daughter graduated we would have my husband do locum tenens 1/3 of the time, missions 1/3 of the time and just fun traveling 1/3 of the time.  That has been our plan since we were married. So what in the world was I going to do while he is doing that? Plus, I always thought seminary would be fun.

I looked around at programs and needed something that could be virtual or a combo of virtual and in person. I love music, but the only ones I could find had programs where you could study to be a music minister. I don't want to do that. Then I found this program. You can take classes in digital production, writing for publication, creative writing, songwriting, theology in worship, theology in contemporary literature, ethnodoxology classes, etc.  I chose to do the master's degree, which was "only" 66 hours instead of the 90 something THM. That meant I did not have to take Hebrew or Greek. I do not have an interest in working in academia, nor to getting a PHD. This is my 4th year and I have 5 hours left in the spring and I graduate!

I had planned to take classes in person for 2 years, as we had to be part of a spiritual formation group for 2 years. Well because of Covid, we met in person for not quite a semester and a half. I  loved being on campus and wish I could have done it more. I did take a class in person this summer. A lot of my classes now are live classes.  They are in-person, but because of Covid they are offering a certain amount of virtual spots for each class. It is also nice with Covid as if someone in the live class was exposed, they could attend virtually and not miss anything. In fact, one semester I attended about 1/3 of the classes in person and the rest virtually.  Virtual just isn't the same. I would much rather (  if my mom wasn't sick) take my last two classes in person.

@TexasProud What an interesting degree program! I earned an M.A. in Biblical Studies many years ago. ❤️ seminary! Learning in community was a big part of that experience, so I can see how covid has impacted current students.

Cool! So many different emphasis now. The other thing I liked is how many women are there as well as a variety of races. And I have not been the oldest student! There are quite a few my age, but some in their 60's as well. That is the other thing I miss is the women's group. Before Covid, we had meetings a couple of times a month, a lunch with a speaker. Sometimes they opened it up to everyone like when Dr. Glahn spoke about the issue of women in Corinthians and Timothy in light of new cultural discoveries. Standing room only. They had a retreat, which I didn't attend that semester because it was my daughter's senior year and she had a musical theater audition the same weekend and my husband was in Africa, so he couldn't take her.  I made several new friends, a couple of which I have maintained relationships with over Covid. I think if I had been able to go in person the remaining time, I would have made more.

Howdie, happy Wednesday!

It's gonna be a busy day if all goes according to plan.  In addition to our already busy Wednesday stuff, the invisible fence is supposed to be installed this afternoon.

Done:

  • Up in the wee hours for various reasons, including a kid who shouldn't have watched a horror flick yesterday.
  • Slept 3 or 4 hours?
  • Kids up.
  • Took out the garbage.
  • Kids to school, just barely on time, whew!  We left maybe 4 minutes earlier than yesterday.  The traffic jam near the school is nuts.  Maybe I should just make a rule that I drop them off wherever we are at 7:40 or 7:45.  I mean they're probably going to be late anyway if I screw around with the traffic after that time.  Maybe having to walk farther will be an incentive?  Though they probably won't get out of the car in that case.  😕
  • Pup stuff, including a brisk hilly walk of about a half mile.
  • Some dish washing and other house cleaning.
  • A bit of client work.
  • Caught up on emails, news, calendar, social media, and electronic school stuff.
  • 2 coffees so far.

To do:

  • Lots of client work.
  • Deal with the invisible fence guys.  It is supposed to include a first training.
  • The lawn guys should also be here making their noise and ruckus for about 10 minutes.  My pup is gonna be interesting.  (On the positive side, he didn't say anything about the first garbage truck or the meter reader ... most likely didn't notice them.  And the squirrels seem to be less busy this week.)
  • Pick up my kids after tutoring & band practice.
  • Print the certificates for the trainings we did for CERT - to give to the administrator tonight.
  • Take a shower at some point.
  • Webinar about pediatric anxiety overlapping everything else.
  • Cert class in the evening.  Hope that the classes my kids didn't finish yet aren't a problem.  They are off school Friday so should be able to finish then.
  • Make the kids finish homework etc.  Tomorrow is the last day of the quarter.
  • Hope to walk the dog again and hopefully do some other exercise.
  • Probably need to do some laundry.
  • Bring in the garbage cans and the mail.
  • Whatever else gets done.

My work inbox is below 100 items!

The invisible fence guy got here early, 11:something and expects to be here roughly 5 hours in total.  My pup didn't love it, but he is doing OK all things considered.  The lawn guys came and went.

Can't really concentrate much, so it's a good thing I don't have any specific work deadlines today.

Invisible fence guy is done for today.

They will come 2 more times for trainings.  Then we're on our own.

The guy did say our pup was learning quickly, listened well, and was smart.  Well he probably says that to all the dog moms, LOL.  I'm just glad my pup didn't try to eat the guy.

Pup is wiped out - sleeping sweetly.  I wish I could do the same.

Kids just texted me to come and pick them up from band!

I feel a lot better now.  No more issues happened and really enjoyed Quarantine Book Club

Done

  • Scheduled mammogram
  • left message to surgeon\s nurse to change pre-op day and then left another one later to change post-op visit (I thought I could just call the reception desk and change that one but no, I can't)
  • found the phone number of one of the potential nurse advocates and called and the person told me she would be calling back (I didn't like the new one they gave me and they are trying to have me work with her again but she had a bad attitude and we will see---
  • Found out that my Enbrel prescription is processing but I want to get it very fast so will check on it again later
  • communicated with our yard care person and got him to come out and do just the leaves today because although I want more bush trimming and weed removal in side yard, that can wait.  He hadn't checked the weather and said he would be coming later today or tomorrow- we are having rain throughout tomorrow- possibly heavy and possibly thunderstorms
  • made myself a tasty lunch and ate that
  • figured out that Humana Tricare East claims person made a mistake on a claim from last year that we only received notice about in a group of EOBs that was sent in late Sept.
  • Called Humana Tricare and spoke with a very competent claims person who did understand that it was a mistake and sent it back for processing.  The problem was that we met our catastrophic limit in July 2020 and this was a claim from Oct 2020 and it claimed that we hadn't met our deductible so it had us paying a co-pay.  She also very helpfully explained that the Home Health Agency I used in March/April did not send in the claims correctly- they need to send all the dates of service as one claim- not to it daily like they told me they had to do.

To do

  • Maybe have dh and I go to brand new library branch which he wanted to visit and I have a hold
  • Go to eyeglass place and get the eyeglass nose
  • MOre shopping in person
  • grab dinner to go from shopping center
  • Chronic Illness support group meeting online
  • Amazon order
  • Read/watch

@TexasProud, I can understand procrastinating about it. It's been difficult to talk to my dad about stuff without seeming to pry. Even when he had cancer three years ago, I still felt weird about it all. He just closed on selling 22 acres of land he had for sale for about 4 years. We are SOOOO thankful it sold while he is still alive. The hassle of a will and probate with the property being across the state line from where he lives was not going to make it easier to deal with if he were to pass before it sold.

I had a nice afternoon with my sister and had dinner with her. I got the chair and it goes nicely in the space! Dh likes it, too.

I stopped at a Target on the way back home and got the rest of the candy to give out, so I can start making the bags this weekend.

I picked up paper goods for Thanksgiving. They are really cute and more casual, but I liked them. I got a little murder mystery game and will see if everyone will play along with that, too. I need to plan the meal mostly gluten free because ds's girlfriend will probably be coming. Her stomach is definitely feeling better if she doesn't eat it.

MOstly done

  • Maybe have dh and I go to brand new library branch which he wanted to visit and I have a hold I didn't have much time to look around but there is a nice cafe, Makers room- where 3D printers and other such stuff are located, lots of nice areas for reading including a garden area.  Looking forward to actually going there and seeing it better
  • Go to eyeglass place and get the eyeglass nostook inly about 5 minutes including waiting for the person to come to the dask
  • MOre shopping in persondid a quick partial look around toy store a few doors down and I noticed their prices are less than a lot of Amazon.  Bought a cool Playmobile construction truck and female worker and other things for 1.5years and up and it was made in Malta-not China- which I much prefer-- hate all those recalls for toxic paint, parts too small, falling apart and becoming choking hazards, et
  • Turns out we had to go to giant shopping mall about 15 minutes away for dh to pick up suit jacket he ordered so we ordered from an Eastern European/Western Asian restaurant-- took a long time because order was cancelled incorrectly, than we ordered again and it took 15 minutes for main cook to realize that the item he thought they had was gone from the frig- just a main cook plus asst cook for entire restaurant and he was also dealing with all takeout and delivery orders  Finally got dinner about an hour after we ordered (it was to go) but it was super delicious
  • grab dinner to go from shopping center
  • Chronic Illness support group meeting online
  • Amazon order

CERT class is done, and the pup is in bed.  Everyone's in a pretty good mood for a Wednesday.  I have a load of laundry in the washer and plan to turn in once I transfer it to the dryer.

What I'm grateful for today:  that we got a lot accomplished and that I connected positively with my girls, despite a fair amount of stress.

Grateful that all of this is happening now when I have an empty nest.

Heard the last of our furniture is due at the store next week, so my husband removed all of our couches and recliners and they will be sold at a Habitat Restore type sale.
