They said mom's pills would cost her 2600 a month for her co-pay. I've been working on getting assistance and she qualifies. They said the doc would fill out the paperwork, but the doc gave it to her. If she has filled it out and my step-dad can take it to the doctor's office tomorrow, then I will wait until Wednesday to go. But if she hasn't, then I will drive after filming so I can get it filled out and into the doctor's office, so we can get these pills sent.  It is just too hard to try to do some of this stuff from long distance.

  • Quiet Time/Journaling
  • Clean up my mess in my daughter's room and pack school stuff in backpack (Using her room for seminary stuff and quiet time.)
  • Pack my suitcase
  • Fill out Next Right Thing Guided Journal for this past week
  • Fill out my weekly kickstart planner
  • Fill out today and tomorrow's planner
  • Go to church
  • Call mom
  • Film devotions at church
  • Drive to mom's ???   Depends on what mom says and if she has filled out the paperwork

If I drive to mom then that probably ends it, though might get stuff done before I leave since I am up so early

  • Make 3 more Advent videos
  • Work on Wednesdays blog
  • Record 4 more devotions for podcasts
  • Proof and print 4 more devotions

Well, I overslept, so didn't get breakfast made for dh, but finished making his lunch. Today's main jobs will be to complete what I didn't do yesterday. So, today's plan:

Church x 2

Shred some more

Clean the bathrooms

Dust and put out fall decor

Dinner

Work in classroom

Pick up a few groceries after church

Oh my, can I get all this done today?

Good morning!

I woke up too early, so just got up anyway. Bacon is in the oven and coffee is ready to make. Turned on the heat for the first time since April. Just to take the chilly edge off. Enjoying the morning quiet.

To do:

Shower!

Keep the toddler nursery at church. Sunday school. Go to late service.

Take a kid to visit my mom

Make taco meat, start beef stock, chx into marinade, figure out dinner.

Hymn sing at friends’ home.

Read!

Oh, bless you for your service, @ScoutTN Watching toddlers is a thankless job. When Covid is over, and/or not taking care of my mom, I plan to do some of that, or find a MOPS group and volunteer to watch kids. I remember how much I appreciated it and needed a break when my kids were small.   So, the hymn sing sounds interesting. When you have time, I would love to hear about it!

Good morning!

@TexasProud, I'm so glad your mom will get assistance with that cost, but I'm sorry you are having to jump through the hoops!

@ScoutTN, are you prepping your meat for the week? I've never tried that, but I might.

I had a lot of trouble going to sleep last night, but I had a too-late short nap that messed me up.

The kids go back to school today. I'll miss them!

  • meals (lunch out at our new favorite burrito bar)
  • church (kids going with us)
  • Depending on what time they leave going back to school, I will possibly drive to the antique store to get the chair I purchased. If not today, I'll go one afternoon this week.
  • look over lessons for tomorrow
  • laundry
  • pay bills/update checking

Howdie, happy Sunday!

I slept in this morning, but it was still morning when I got up.  😛  So far it's been a pretty good day, just being domestic.

There are no outings or birthdays on my calendar today, yay!  The last time that happened was September 12.

However, my kids and I have 5 online modules to do for CERT class.  I have already gotten push-back because Kid1 claims to have tons of homework.  As expected.  😕  But I am going to push to get as much done as possible.  If some bleeds into tomorrow, that might still be OK as we don't have any after-school activities Monday or Tuesday ... but I know they'll have plenty of homework and sass.  I'd rather get it done so they can watch some TV in between school and homework.

Kid2 wants to go out to eat for her "turn," since we couldn't do it Friday or Saturday.  I told her it depends on getting all the homework and CERT stuff done.  We'll see.

I think I'll skip making them do church today in favor of CERT stuff.  I will watch the service myself and decide if there is anything they really need to hear.

It's a beautiful cool fall day.  Mostly peaceful on the domestic side.  And I started the day with self-care (shower, hair wash, nail clipping etc.), which is a luxury for me these days.

Done:

  • Slept like normal people, yay!
  • Shower with hair wash etc.
  • A little housework, pup duty, exercise, reading, laundry.
  • Caught up on emails, calendar, social media, news, and electronic school stuff.
  • Registered for FEMA IDs for myself and my kids, and looked up some things about the CERT online courses we have to take.
  • Made a donation.
  • Reviewed automatic pup food purchase to make sure we don't run out.
  • Registered for 2 classes regarding mental health.

To do:

  • Pay bills.
  • Online church.
  • Go buy shower curtains & whatever else is needed.
  • More exercise, reading, housework, laundry.
  • Some client work.
  • Try to finish at least 2 CERT classes with the kids.  They say they are 2 and 3.5 hours long!  Yikes, I hope that is not really true ....
  • Make the kids finish their homework, housework, and pup duty.
  • Give the dog his wormer med + evening pup duty.
  • Try to get things ready for the school week.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Home from church.

Made chili instead of taco meat with the ground beef. Goes farther and includes more veggies.

Beef bones roasted and into the crock pot with other ingredients for beef stock.

Lunch was egg salad with bacon, sliced bradley tomatoes, and an avocado.

Next up: clean up lunch and get chx into fajita marinade.

@mom31257 I have been trying to cook ahead a bit on quiet weekends to make busy weeknights easier. I always keep homemade beef and chx stock so we can always have soup. So easy, yummy, and nutritious.

@TexasProud Some friends of ours invite church friends over once a month on Sunday evening to sing and pray and visit. Hymn books (Trinity Hymnal) and acapella singing. When it’s very hot or cold and we are inside, we have a piano. Occasionally we have strings - viola and violin. Thankfully, most people who come can really sing, so my bad singing is drowned out! 😉😆 Most of us have teens, but kids as young as 7 have been there. Singles and couples. We go about 2 hrs.

Not sure if I mentioned it, but the buyer backed out of buying my MIL's house. She already has another cash offer, so at least all that packing wasn't in vain! LOL!

She would still like us to come help with the moving in, so we should know dates on that soon.

The kids just left going back to school. It was good having them here! Thanksgiving should be the next time they come.

@MooCow, congrats on finishing the paper!

We had leftovers for dinner.

I looked over the lessons for tomorrow.

I paid bills and updated my checking account records.

I will probably watch Much Ado About Nothing tonight, which is available to rent on Amazon. My full subject student (manage all of his homeschool work) is starting it for his co-op literature class. Watching Shakespeare helps me understand it better before I read it.

OOOOH!!!!  Is it the Kenneth Branagh version?  LOVE LOVE LOVE that one. He and Emma Thompson were married when they made it. I showed it to my 10th grade English classes. ( Minus the opening shower scene and with a poster board  over the tv during the scene where Hero is supposedly unfaithful. ) And yes, it does.  I remember showing Mark Antony's funeral speech (Marlon Brando just cannot be beat) and then looking at the text again with the students. They could see so clearly how he manipulated the crowd.

I am at my mom's house and very glad I came. I think she has been in bed all day. The form has not been touched...  So I will fill it out with her help and then take it to the doctor to see if they can check their 2 boxes and fax it where it needs to go so she can get started on her pills. GRR.  I guess I don't understand my aunt, but I guess I didn't spell it out either, but she knew that we needed that form filled out. The part mom has to do is only 1 page. I do not understand why they didn't fill it out and give it to the doctor while they were there on Thursday.

She loved the flowers my husband picked out for her.

This sounds so incredibly lovely and I had to laugh, and this is someone who writes on the phone with tons of misspellings so should take the log out of my own eye, but I read that the singing drowned out your sinning.  I literally laughed out loud. 🙂 Thank you.  Needed that!

Amy, the Close Reads Podcast did Much Ado About Nothing in 2018. Five episodes, one per act. Good supplement for a high school study.

So my daughter Facetimed me and she and her roomate LOVED the care package I sent. I sent some decorated fall cookies ( gluten free for roommate), fall socks, some children's books that made me think of them. ( The one for my daughter was a board book about a working mom and how much she loves her daughter even when they are apart.  So much of it made me think of us.) Also sent some handwarmers for the upcoming Indiana winter.  Miss her. She wishes she could give me a hug, but this was almost as good. Love that girl!
