cintinative Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 I have a little more information now on the learning issues my youngest has. He has dyslexia which really affects his processing speed, but he is very gifted so he has mostly accommodated. That said, the language-base of this curriculum isn't the easiest for him. My plan had been to have him complete Traditional Logic I this year (I spread it out to ease the workload), and originally, pre-diagnosis, to do Traditional Logic II next year. Based on his testing and high giftedness in visual-spatial, this is a kid I see going into some kind of design (not engineering, because of dyscalculia). I am trying to sort of reassess my plan for him school-wise. I am contemplating dropping Traditional Logic II. I am trying to decide if I am doing him a disservice by dropping it. What do you think? Lori D. Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 Absolutely! I believe that each program usually "counts" as 0.5 credit, so award credit 0.5 Logic when you finish Traditional Logic I. Absolutely no problem with spreading 0.5 credit out over 1 year, and no need to feel pressured to do both I and II. By not doing the second book, your schedule will be freed up to spend more time on courses and activities that will be of high interest and best prepare your student for his future career path. BEST of luck! Warmly, Lori D. 1 1 Quote
