We went to see this last night and really liked it. Dd says it is now one of her favorite Marvel movies.

It was fun listening to my kids in the car afterwards making connections to a zillion other stories and movies (besides other Marvel). All the books/movies really are talking to each other!

Did you see it? Like it or no?

I saw it.  I really enjoyed it, though I don't know yet where I'd put it with other Marvel movies.  Kind of depends maybe on how it winds up fitting into the whole Marvel universe as a whole?  I enjoyed that Shang Chi and Katie were legitimately just good friends and not a romantic interest at all.

My youngest was a big fan of all the fantasy creatures.

I was worried about covid precautions when we went to see it, but we wore our masks the whole time and there was only like one other person in the theater with us.  It felt pretty safe.  But we waited till it had been out a few weeks and went to a matinee at an out of the way theater.  And we're all vaccinated.  It felt like a reasonable risk.

I usually can't stand the extra 40 minutes of mayhem in every Marvel movie, but I didn't mind this one so much. I guess because it was more martial arts instead of car chases. I thought it had some slow spots, and I don't really know what the Ben Kingsley character was supposed to be about, but overall, I liked it!

We enjoyed it! There was only one other family there, so we had no concerns about covid. Loved that I could follow the story…something I can’t always say about Marvel movies the first time I see them.  Awkwafina was great!  I hadn’t seen Simu Liu in anything other than Kim’s Convenience and thought he was excellent!

Yes, this is similar to our experience.

We saw it tonight.  My kids loved it.  They are now writing up D&D stats blocks for the 10 rings and for other weapons (dragon tipped arrows etc)

I was also nervous about covid exposure, but it turned out to be the safest indoor experience possible - we were literally the only people in the theatre.  Other than the staff.  We bought our tickets online with assigned seats.  Showed our proof of vaccination at the door, went into the theatre and had the entire place to ourselves for the whole movie.  It was weird, but pretty cool.

I thought we’d enjoy having the theater to ourselves but I kind of miss the community of watching with a crowd.

Agree!  Especially for a martial arts themed movies.  I'm used to audience participation (cheering!) with these.
