sangtarah Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 My two little Shih-tzu/Bichon mixes have been on Royal Canin breed specific dry dog food for a long time. It’s become hard to get and expensive, so I need other brands that are good. No chicken, I think the puppy’s tummy doesn’t like chicken. 2 Quote
Pawz4me Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 I have no food suggestions (mine eat homecooked or commercial canned), but . . they're so cute! I want them. 😉 Quote
madteaparty Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 I use Fromm, but I don’t think it’s much cheaper than what you’re using 😞 Quote
SounderChick Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 We did purina pro plan for a long time and it's great. Now we are using Canidae because they have an all stage that makes life easier. Either of those brands though I don't know their small breed selections are typically really great. Quote
WildflowerMom Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 Quote We are now using Purina Pro Plan weight management or something like that. It's the low fat kind, but not the prescription one. My dog who had pancreatitis recently is doing very well on it and actually likes it. I use the dry and canned version. Right now, she is eating the turkey version, but there's also beef and maybe salmon? I can't remember. I got it from Amazon. Quote
itsheresomewhere Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 We use homemade dog food along with Solid Gold. This works fantastic for our gassy breeds. Another two I really like is Fromm and Stella and Chewy’ raw blend kibble. Quote
gardenmom5 Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 I do Blue Buffalo/Blue Wilderness (wet and kibble) for my cat (grain free is especially important. for cats.) they also make dog food. Some varieties have no chicken. My dd's labradoodle breeder uses/rec'd life's abundance. But it also has chicken. Not sure what my dd feeds her dogs. Their tummy's don't like chicken either. (They can have a tiny bit, but if they have too much they have runny stools. And they love chicken. . . ) Quote
Splash1 Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 We feed Purina Pro Plan Sport Salmon and Rice. They do very well on it as does my daughter's dog. I have one with a sensitive stomach. Quote
