Re-waterproofing rain gear

My Columbia rain jacket is no longer waterproof. 😞 I want to re-waterproof it. Any suggestions on what to use? I know how to handle tents and backpacks and gear, but I have never done jackets before.

I used the Scotchguard Water Shielf Spray. However, I live somewhere where it rain infrequently.

I use Scotchguard as well.  It's amazing.  (I also use it on white baseball pants, because the dirt comes right off all season when I treat them ahead of time).

I use wash-in stuff. Grangers is the big brand here.

My outdoor store adviced this:

* cold water program to clean  washing machine from standard detergent

* product A to clean the jacket from dust and soil and spots

* product B to waterproof the jacket

If the jacket has been washed with standard detergent or not prewashed at all, the washin waterproof product can’t attach well enough

It works well this way.
