Good morning! So what’s on your list for today? Any fun weekend plans?

I’ve had b’fast and coffee. Headed out shortly to take mom to a medical appt. Then meeting with home assistance organization to see if they can provide some extra care for mom.

After that, not sure. I’ll post as the day evolves. These I do know:

Need to figure out dinner! Chx.

Return library books!

A bit of AHG paperwork and prep for tomorrow’s event.

Good morning!

Hoping to have a good day; here's my list:

....coffee
....tutor the 5 yr old
....grade papers/actually pack the bag for Monday's classes
....school with DS -- language arts, history
....check on middle DS, make sure he's on track w/school, got stuff turned in yesterday, isn't too frustrated w/us
....sewing time today
....dinner -- chicken recipe

I think that's basically all, but maybe I'll think of more

Turns out mom’s appt was at 9:45, not 8:00. Sooo, she will not be on time for the next appt., which is urgent.

She had a diaper blowout at the dermatologist. Thankfully, the clinic is in a large facility with many other clinics and the kind nurse was able to get a clean diaper for her.

Mom needs more care than she likes or will admit. She is resisting all efforts to get her this care and is being super argumentative and rude to me.  Sigh.

Going to Starbucks now, while she’s in her appt.

@ScoutTN I hate to say this, but there comes a point where you just have to treat your mom like she's your child. My mother became combative, very angry and uncooperative. So I treated her like a child. It was the only way I could get her to kind of behave, especially at dialysis. It really really sucks. I'm so sorry you're in this situation. Continuing to say prayers for your mom and you.

Good morning! Happy Friday!

Must clean the kitchen from husband's birthday dinner.

Not sure what else we're going to do, it's our last day of "vacation". We will most likely go to our best friend's house sometime today with a tray of brownies, her mother died yesterday morning after a long hard battle with cancer that she did not fight so my best friend is in the anger mode right now. She's the one who lost her husband over a year ago.

Tomorrow because I will be off of vacation LOL I must do school school school.

Hoping for a lighter dinner this evening and just hanging out with my family. Hope you all are having a good day!

Howdie, happy Friday!

I'm hoping today will be very chill after a number of busy/stressful days.  My kids are off school, so we all slept in.  Even though it's a work day, I don't think I have any actual deadlines etc., so I think I can do whatever I want as far as moving various projects along . . . provided that my clients don't create any emergencies.  My kids have a few homework items that they should complete today, in order to keep the weekend free for other things.

As for weekend plans, tomorrow, in addition to our usual Saturday stuff, we have my kids' 3rd degree blackbelt test, another dog training session, and tax prep for my sister and parents.  Sunday is my kid's birthday.

But back to today:

Done:

  • Slept in, yay!
  • A tiny bit of pup duty, client work, and household tasks.
  • Discussions about important weekend planning / birthday gift stuff.
  • Caught up on emails, calendar, news, social media, and electronic school stuff.
  • Working on coffee 2.

To do:

  • More client work.
  • More pup and other household duties.
  • Make the kids get their homework up to date through Monday.
  • Finalize kid's birthday gift, hopefully.
  • Keep the house nice for Saturday.
  • Might do grocery shopping if kid still wants to cook.
  • Evening TKD with the kids.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Home from the 5 yr old's

Realizing I'm not fully settled after a....argument? misunderstanding? between DH & I.....need to work on that.

Really want to go do some "retail therapy" shopping, but also realized I need to schedule an appt to renew my driver's license.....

Did some shopping at Costco. Got b-day gifts for MIL and my mom, as well as some Christmas things. Stopping by mom’s convenient storage unit on the way home to stash Christmas items.

Sat down and watched Grey's Anatomy; while watching, I did a writing exercise to get over still feeling wonky about the argument; it helped.

Showed DS the dye options for his costume for RenFest, and going to head out now and do that shopping.

I keep forgetting that it isn't Saturday!

Had a nice call with my sister and took a luxurious shower (meaning more than 3 minutes long).

Brought in and put away the groceries and 3 other deliveries and the mail.

The kids finally got up!

Good afternoon!

Everyone is dealing with a lot right now, but know that I'm going to be praying for each of you and your family/friend's situations!

I just got back from my sister's. We had a good time, and I got to meet a new friend of hers. I really liked her and hope we'll do more together in the future.

I'm repacking for us to go to Ohio this evening after dh gets home from work, which should be soon.

Have a great weekend!

Bestie whose mother just passed is coming over for dinner and we're going to get Chinese takeout, well Panda really.

Oldest son texted daughter and said is Dad's birthday today? She replied no you idiot it was yesterday 🤣😔

Praying for safe travel for oldest, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, they fly home tonight.

Amy, have a good trip!

@TheReader I'm glad you were able to write out your feelings regarding you and your dear husbands mini fight for lack of a better word. I hope you all have a blessed weekend together!

So, does anyone know how @TravelingChris is doing?

@MooCow, thank you! I'm feeling so much better -- a friend had posted a quote about focusing on what you know to be true in things. The good decisions, not the bad, etc. So I wrote out a note to DH (that I intended to throw away) and acknowledged all the hurt, but then wrote out what I know to be true about him and me and us, and sure enough, all of that truth supercedes any silly fight. It was a really helpful exercise for me, and I did still throw the thing in the trash, and then told him all the stuff at the end that was good. ❤️  We are back on an even keel now, thank goodness.

Home from running errands.....should not have wasted time with "might have what we need, all in one place" and gone straight to "will definitely have, in two stops" but at least we got what we needed. This weekend we'll be dyeing things -- jeans, a dark brown (hopefully), and DS's hair a bright green (temporary-ish) color. Should be fun???

Praying for safe travels and for Christina.

@TheReader Our Ren. Faire is in May. Really looking forward to it! We haven’t been in years, but my kids still have very vivid memories of it! We did Med/Red for two years on our first history cycle bc it was so fun!
