Mert Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 If my son were to jump into a more traditional path after completing Int Alg, what class would be next? I originally thought Int Alg = Alg2, but I'm realizing now that it’s a bit more. Does it cover enough Pre-Calculus that he could go straight into an AB Calculus class? Quote
Roadrunner Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 He needs trig. So you can probably take a traditional precalculus textbook and skip over algebra portion of it and go straight into trigonometry chapters. Then you can go to AB. 2 Quote

Trigonometry will take about a semester. 1 Quote
gstharr Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 My then 8th grader skipped alg 2 , and geometry and went straight to Thinkwell College Precalculus. TW College Precalc is a complete college alg class, and a complete trig class. It took him about 18 months to finish. Then he did TW College Calc (Calc 1 & 2) . From there , he is now doing AP cal ab at school . Somewhat a redo but he has not missed a problem yet in AP calc two months into the class. No problem recommending TW higher math classes 1 Quote
