Dianthus
A measuring cup is marked at every ounce. Assuming the measurement cup is used correctly, what is the greatest possible measurement error that can be made with the cup? Express your answer as a fraction of an ounce. Kind of a weird question, but I agree with everyone else. But it's not actually super realistic, lol. I don't think you'd ever be actually off by that much... Dianthus
Assuming it's used correctly, why would it be off at all. I'll have to dig back through Saxon 8/7 to see where they explain this.

Not_a_Number
Maybe the assumption is that you’re measuring a given amount, instead of measuring out a certain amount?? Like, you have some quantity of water and you’re measuring it, maybe?

kiwik
The error is usually half the smallest marking so 1/2 oz.
