Help me pick some new shoes

I love wearing sandals, but it’s that time of year when feet get too cold in them.  I need some new shoes, but I don’t know what I want.  I need something that I can do a fair bit of walking in, but I don’t want chunky sneakers.  I like my generic Converse that are wearing out, but I want a change.  Some casual flats would be great for a while, but eventually it will be so cold that I’ll want something I can wear socks with. I have boots I wear some in winter, but I don’t like them for everyday shoes.  What is cute, comfy, looks good with jeans, and doesn’t scream “I’m over 40”?  Bonus points if they are under $50.

You could always go high top so you can wear socks. Converse or something like these: https://www.rocketdog.com/products/jazzin-olive-tie-dye-high-top-sneaker?gclid=CjwKCAjwp_GJBhBmEiwALWBQkz2-MIEi_L7EUjjbzIqo2eROdvfTtNM30bdx9J_664L6MyfEl_QuBRoC6t4QAvD_BwE

I'm also quite partial to a chukka (sometimes called a driving moc).   These or these

(Above $50, but once you find a look you like, then it's easier to find something similar in a budget...)

There seems to be quite a lot of denim look leather shoes in the shops down here that I really like the look of.  If shoes were in the budget that’s what I’d be buying. It probably is a bit of a fad thing but I like the look. I’m not much of a fashion person though.

So, my favorite tip is to go to a Nordstrom's Rack, if you have one near you, and go through the shoes in your size. I am always able to find something around $50, and have never been disappointed, and always they're comfortable.

This will let you see lots of styles and options, and find what works.

Barring that, I honestly love love love my little ankle boots. If you find a really good pair, they can easily be walk/stand all day shoes (they are what I wear to teach, when I'm on my feet from 8:00 to 4:00).

I have a pair of Lands End all weather mocs that are 16 years old. They’re not fit for anything but gardening anymore, but they’re STILL comfortable and have life in them.  I wouldn’t call them stylish, but at least they’re neutral, waterproof, and not sneakers. I also like to have a pair of black or navy vans.

Ecco has really cute tie shoes that are sooo comfortable.  They're work in warmer weather with just low socks, but you can wear regular socks with them when the weather is cooler.

I also have their slip-on loafers which I love, but I think they look funny with socks.

They're pricy, although sometimes I can get last year's styles for half price.

I bought some fall boots last month for close to $30 but they have since retagged most of their shoes. I bought these
