Remudamom
One of our local ranchers just married a lovely lady from the Philippines. (sp?) They came over for dinner. She mentioned that she couldn't find rice like she was used to eating. I would think in this day and age she could find a store online and order anything she wanted??? Anyhow...........she was fascinating. Her family actually lives in GRASS HUTS, and kill pigs the day before they eat them!! Jean in Newcastle
My husband is Filipino. We visited the Philippines last year to sight-see and to visit family. My MIL likes the Jasmine Rice. But the Philippines is a very diverse place of over 7000 islands so I'm not sure if she'd like the same kind of rice!
ElizabethB
If you know someone in the military, they could probably get some, they have a great Asian section in the commissary. You could also help her look online.
Blueridge
You might suggest Calrose brand of white rice. Our Walmart has it in the oriental section. Ginger

Try to google it.
emeraldjoy
Not sure where you live (how secluded I am wondering) but you could ask a local chinese/vietnamense/etc restaurant about their rice. One of our local restaurants has a very small "store" inside where one could all kinds of rice. e
Remudamom
Hey, that's a thought. We do have a couple of Chinese restaurants in the nearest town. Maybe the girls and I should take her to lunch there and have her critique it for us!
TammyinTN
She might like Golden Phoenix Jasmine rice...not sure where you could purchase it though. I'll check my commissary tomorrow and see what they carry and I'll give you pm later.
