klmama
My teen has a huge amount of reading and memorization to do for some other courses, so I'm trying to lighten the load a bit for US Government reading while still covering the details in depth. Usually, dc uses The Great Courses for lectures, but this time I'm considering Khan Academy. Dc has already read the founding documents, some of the Federalist and Anti-Federalist Papers, etc.; in addition to the lectures, quizzes, and tests Khan Academy has, I would add written assignments and some state government study. Any experience using Khan for US Government or AP US Government? Thoughts?
kokotg
We've just started using it, so I can't give much feedback yet, but we've had good luck using Khan as our "textbook" for assorted AP history classes in the past. I have AP classroom access now, too, so we're using that with Khan and then adding in extra readings, podcasts, etc.
Lanny
This is OT or is it? Possibly something additional for your DC to look into to add to knowledge and understanding of how everything intertwines. I audited this course a few months ago. I recommend it for your consideration. It's free if you Audit. https://www.edx.org/course/american-government-constitutional-foundations
