What have you bought lately that you are loving?

I bought a wooden 3d world map from etsy for our loft/library. I just stand and stare at it. So pretty and different.  ❤️ (Pic is from the link, not my house. LOL)

Wall Decor World Map Wall Art Anniversary Gift For Husband NO

I also absolutely adore the product a worker at The Body Shop recommended when I asked for something for callused heels. The Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel is for the face, but OMG it does wonders on feet!

This tailgate protector that will hold four bikes! What a great alternative to very expensive bike racks and hitches!

We gave ds my car out of necessity and our bike rack went along with it. Ds rides, and it wouldn’t fit my new car anyway. So I researched and found a rack and hitch to accommodate my new car. But SO expensive for one that wasn’t flimsy. Then Dh got a new truck and we just started throwing our bikes in the back of it. I thought, well, eventually we’ll find something. We’re planning a road trip to visit a different son and Dh doesn’t want to travel with our bikes just thrown in the truck bed like that. I was disappointed that we wouldn’t be able to take our bikes. That night he asked  me to pull up tailgate protectors on my iPad. I was like, why do we need that when you have a spray in liner?

When I saw it, I was thinking…WHAT is THIS? It’s more of a biking transport system than a tailgate protector! To me, anyway. For $89.00 we can transport four bikes!! I didn’t know these existed! The only thing is, you can’t actually lock the bikes down to make them secure from theft, unless your truck has something physical to anchor to. The bikes do velcro securely in place, though. Dh might figure something out, but we can do without it if need be. The bikes don’t need to be left unattended in our case, anyway.

Sorry this is getting long, but this is a good way to haul lots of bikes for not a lot of money!

This weekend we bought an older model Honda Accord for the older 2 kids to drive but I'll likely be taking a turn in between vehicle purchases and stealing it here and there as I can. It reminds me of the Civic I had when we married (newer and bigger but very similar body style). I loved that Civic so much and haven't loved a car before or since then. And having a Honda (over a domestic model) gives a very huge piece of mind (for safety and my pocket book).

I love Hondas!  I was raised with Toyotas.  But then since getting married we stuck with Nissan. That was my first car and it was perfect for 10 years.  Had a horrible time with Jeep.  Then I got a Dodge minivan which was junk.  I have had a Honda van for the last 6 and half years and love it.  They just feel so much better to drive.

Ooh!  Can you tell me if this has a strong/distinctive odor or scent?  My husband suffers from dry heels and has yet to find something really good.  But he also gets migraines from strong scents.....

TIA!

Not the person you were asking, but Flexitol is awesome, and no real smell to it at all. https://amzn.to/2XvKzYf

I get migraines from strong scents also. I find this almost unscented, slightly citrusy if anything. But now I’m looking at this…

It’s way cheaper, so I think I will pick some up to compare! Thanks!

Burt’s Bees Lavender Honey lip butter.  So soft and yet so lasting, and I like the smell of lavender now that I am ‘older’.

Lancôme newish ‘Ruby’ series lip stuff—I have the base, which I hardly ever buy but it’s very emollient and works as a stand alone lip balm, and two colors to go on top—Rubiez, and Hot Pink Ruby.  They are similar, both very strong, but the first is a bold, deep red while the second is tilted a bit toward fuchsia.  They are strong enough to spread over the base, kind of like oil pastels, and last really well.  They don’t feather either, which is my sore point.

And two scarves from CAbI—a ‘mink’ and black knit one that is ultra cozy, and a red and purples silk one that goes with 2/3 of my wardrobe.

Ooh, if you do, could you remember to tag me and let me know?  We live overseas, so I'm not picking it up anytime soon.  But, maybe in Nov as a Christmas present to be delivered...

I love how Amazon shows the "frequently bought together" items as the tail gate cover, bike gloves, and a frame mounted phone case.

Vanicreme is also unscented, comes in different weights, and is recommended by my allergist.

Oops, spelled it wrong: https://www.vanicream.com/

So I got the Flexitol today, and it might work well over time, but it is not the same type of product. This actually made me feel better since The Body Shop product is so much more expensive. 🤣 I have only used the Flexitol once, but it was essentially a cream that absorbed into my feet/heels. Over time (a week, applied twice a day according to the instructions), it seems like it will gradually  wear down calluses. The Vitamin C peel I linked above is a fast-acting product. When you apply it,  instead of absorbing into the skin/callus like a lotion, it dissolves the top layer of callus and balls up into the product to be rinsed/brushed away. In fact, I always apply it with a hand towel under my feet to catch the residue. It is essentially a chemical rasp. Also, I did find the scent of the Flexitol too much. On my feet, it is fine, but I had to wash my hands thoroughly or it would have given me a headache for sure.

Thanks! I bought this for DH for birthday or Christmas as a result of your post. It's in hiding.

Hope he loves it as much as I do! I use it a few times a week on 3 different compost piles. One is in a BioStack…the other two are just piles of lawn clippings and leaves, rotting wood, horse manure, etc…my worms are thriving and multiplying! These small miracles bring me so much joy. 🙂
