Howdie, happy Thursday!!

I'm battling what is probably seasonal allergies or maybe a dog hair allergy, LOL.  Really don't want to take meds when there's no fever or headache, but I might change my mind if I keep feeling like crap.

Done:

  • Midnight math/chemistry with kid1.  😕
  • Laundry in the wee hours.
  • Slept some.
  • Morning pup duty.
  • Kids up & driven to school ... one kid may have been late ... we'll see if her teacher gives her grace on account of her sprained ankle.
  • Caught up on calendar, emails, news, social media, and online school stuff.
  • A little client work.
  • Working on coffee 2.

To do:

  • Lots of client work, including IRS call.
  • Pup duty pretty much all day.
  • Kids have marching band after school.
  • Kid1 has soccer practice (watching only)
  • Kids have first Invisalign appointments.  (Bring calendar to set up future date(s).)
  • Make kids finish homework & help with pup duty.
  • Catch up on laundry & house cleaning.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Good morning!

Today I have:

....coffee
....plan/prep K & 1st

...school with DS -- language arts, history
...check on RenFest as DS has been invited to go with some friends, but we aren't sure on which date, what the theme is that weekend, and what masking requirements/or not will be in place, etc.
....fold towels, wash sheets finally
....meal plan/grocery shop
...email grandma
...grade papers
...lunch?
....dinner? -- probably eggs/breakfast, so we can go to fencing, assuming my shoulder/chest is okay (fingers crossed!)

I think that's about it. Have a good day, everyone!

Checked Ren Fest stuff -- no masking required, will follow state mandates (which our governor has banned); still, it's outdoors, so I'm pushing DH to let DS go - he can always mask up himself if he wants (we can even incorporate it into his costume)

Looked up barstools online after we never found them at Ikea, etc.; found a few options, so now let DH pick one

Texted w/mom, she's going to be in my town tomorrow so I'll meet her at the little shops downtown for the day

Remembered I don't *have* K/1st on Monday, so skipping that/saving for next week, when I won't forget what I'm doing. ha! (did get 2 of the things printed for K before I remembered)

Yes, Mondays off always confuse me too!

Started a load of laundry - bath rugs and mats
Changed medical appt to telehealth.
Emailed doc about wrong Rx
Wrote down Ds' HW info.
Folded and put away a load of kitchen linens and towels
Made the bed (Dh usually does this, but he got up and out early to play golf today.)

Graded papers; it is always interesting to me, as I have it listed as optional (I figure at K-2nd, parents are still sitting there doing this with the kids, so they don't *need* my stamp of approval unless they just want to) -- I get folders back totally empty, folders back with the work I sent, sent back to me untouched as though they didn't even look in the folder at all, and folders back with some things, and then usually one/year that sends in every single thing, including whatever extras they assign themselves at home. Just makes me chuckle.

Meal planned, grocery list made, eating lunch then will grocery shop

Emailed a correction out about K homework

Convinced DH I can go to fencing tonight, as long as I give him full rights to "I told you so" if I re-injure myself

Yay, I got through to the IRS on the fifth try.

Usually this is what happens on the call:

  • For English press 1.  Para continuar en espanol, oprima dos.
  • If you received bla bla bla bla bla (none applicable) otherwise press 3.
  • Please enter the ssn or ein bla bla bla.
  • If you entered ssn press 1.  If you entered ein, press 2.
  • The ein you entered was bla bla bla bla bla.  If this is correct, press 1.  If this is incorrect, press 2.
  • Please wait while we transfer your call.
  • Your call may be monitored or recorded bla bla bla.
  • Please wait.
  • [Brief hold music.]
  • We're sorry, but due to extremely high call volume, we cannot process your call right now ...."

But when it goes through, you get the first 9 above bullets, but then they say:

  • Your wait time is estimated at 30 to 60 minutes bla bla bla bla bla bla bla."

Yesterday I was on hold for 1.5 hours before I spoke to an actual person.  (Not including all the failed calls.)

PS I am doing this for free.  Don't ask me why.  Because I said I would.  I never should have done that.  😕

I hope today's hold time is shorter, @SKL.

Did Bible reading (a friend is doing a 1 month challenge, 1 verse a day, on a specific topic)

Folded/put away the towels

Started the 1st load of sheets/blankets (one to go)

Grocery list ready, waiting on DH..... (took a nap instead)

Pharmacy is out of the correct lancets. Got a refund and they will order them...
Our insurance will no longer fill Ds' Rx except in 90 day mail order. So I need to call them. He has two pills left...

Came home to a messy kitchen and not-unloaded dishwasher. Fixed that and made dinner for me and Dd.
Emailed about a prospective tutoring student.

Yay, my call with the IRS agent was productive!!  I was on hold over an hour, but once I got a human, she was able to help me identify and resolve issues.

I still have a couple of things I need to do, but my stress level just went way down on this client matter.

Prayers, @ScoutTN, about the Rx issue.  Will your pharmacy do a partial fill that you pay for out of pocket (if that's feasible, I don't know the Rx cost) to tide your son over until the 90 day mail order can arrive?

@SKL, Hooray!!!! So glad this human was helpful Yay!!!

Home from the grocery store, groceries put away, did school with DS. Unpacked an Amazon box (some books for my classes), need to put away my mess on the dining table left over from that and go cook dinner.

After dinner, head to fencing, hang out for the 6 ft aparty. Remind Oldest that he has his online lecture for one of his classes (and remind middle ds to hang out with his brother instead of hiding out in his room, since everyone else will be unavailable and he's been isolating himself lately).

Made my pasta salad for dinner.

Dd is making youngest toasted ravioli for dinner. He's in quarantine again.

Dh, dd and I have been watching wife swap. My goodness is all I have to say.

Did a load of laundry and youngest chores.

Might have some golden grahams for dessert. With no milk. I had a coupon and it was on sale. It's my favorite.

Go for a walk alone cause dd is tired.

Dd getting tested tomorrow.

Did a bit of school.

I hope those who have had it rough have better days tomorrow!

It was nice seeing dd. She bought my lunch, too.

I looked at some antique stores and found a nice stool for the vanity in our bath.

Got groceries and put everything away

Made dinner late because of dh's open house, which went well. He met A LOT of nice kids and parents. Oh, and he found something positive to praise the new job for...the best, easiest lesson plan forms he's had anywhere!

A friend from back home comes by tomorrow! She's been in Cleveland with her daughter and new grandbaby.

A good day. Between last night and today I made six masks for ds and his gf and my nephew. Baked cookies and brownies for them also. Threw together some spice packs and meal instructions. Got a huge bundle all put together for them. First day of actual productivity in a while. Whew!
