We are having grilled salmon, mashed potatoes with chives and butter, grilled zucchini and red peppers, and salad. Best of all, I do not have to cook it because the Thor, god of the grill, known around here as Mark, Papa Mark, Babe, or dad depending on who is speaking, has appointed himself the master chef of fire. This is fine by me since I do not enjoy cooking! Now to figure out how to keep him grilling outside in the dead of winter. 😁

I have no recipe to post. Everything above is.simply getting butter, garlic, and sea salt to taste. But probably up front we should invoke the hive rule that if you list some drool worthy menu, you have to fess up the recipe.

Sounds delicious! And good for you for scoring a partner who cooks!

I've been off an hour all day today and haven’t started thinking about dinner yet. It’s much too hot to care, but people will need to be fed. Hmmm..

I vote for chef salads and fresh fruit when it is really hot and there isn't much time to prepare. People with hollow legs can throw  potato in the oven or microwave and then doll it up!

We're having leftover barbacoa (door dash delivery) and salad for supper. We're still in the clean out the fridge part of the week while we work on other projects around the house. I'm painting the main level bathroom and dh is working on some projects on his standing desk (re-cabling some stuff).

I planned on making homemade pasta with a kitchenaid attachment I haven't tried yet.  But then I got the migraine from hell and DH said he'd make frozen pizzas. God bless him.

I am so sorry! I hope you feel better soon.

DH and the boys are having pizza.  I am making the dough, and they get to put their toppings on and bake them.  I am avoiding dairy right now, so likely I will just have a sandwich or some soup.

Our main AC is out, and we are waiting on service. We are eating cold foods only, so we don’t add extra heat to our already hot house. The offerings are: sandwiches; cold rotisserie chicken and mesquite wings; sliced veggies (our Allergy Kid can’t eat these, but the rest can); cold grapes, sliced apples, and cara cara oranges. And there’s a selection of snack foods, popsicles and Italian ices for dessert.

Fingers crossed that the AC guy comes soon with a magic fix for our issue!

Hot here so chicken salad, broccoli salad, and fruit salad. Do you sense a theme? Also, all the chopping = therapy.
Cheated and using the rotisserie chicken from Sam's so absolutely no cooking was done here!

Fettuccini alfredo. Actually, linguine alfredo, since that is the kind of pasta that I have on hand. Leftover grilled chicken to add to the pasta, salad, green beans, plums.

I spent a bunch of time today at Costco with DD19, stocking up. We filled two carts. But we didn't get anything for supper! DD wants alfredo before she returns to college this weekend, and I happen to have the ingredients on hand, so alfredo it is. Everyone likes it, so it's a good meal for the almost-first-day of school (last Friday was their actual first day).

Leftover roast beef from last night.  And watermelon. Asparagus if I can find it — I wanted to make it last night but the fridge seems to have eaten it.

Crispy fish tacos with coleslaw and cilantro lime sauce. I got the inspirational from Pinterest. I skipped the part where it said to make the coleslaw and got some premade at the deli. I also skipped the homemade cilantro lime dressing part of the recipe and bought some premade. So all I have to do is dredge and grill some cod- but gluten free.

Domino's.

I can give the recipe if anyone wants it. All you need is a phone and some money.

That's my favorite recipe/dinner!

I had eggs and DH had frozen pizza.  Just got back from a long road trip taking dd back to college - 40 hours of driving round trip.  Not making dinner is definitely a perk of an empty nest.  Last night I had eggs and DH had cereal.

We ate at Wendy's while we waited to be called for a walk in appt at a near by urgent care. They don't allow people to wait inside anymore, so they sent us to our car and told us the would most likely call us before 6:30 (it was 4:45pm) but it could be as late as 8pm.  😞 We had to wait in the parking lot because we live 15 minutes away and couldn't make it back in time, when they called us to say "come on in".

Glad we could get care tonight (ear infection in dd14) but waiting almost 2 hours for an urgent care is a bit daunting.

That stinks. I hope your dd mends very soon!

Dh and ds will both be working so I'm on my own tonight. I'll probably have a salad and add some chicken or a hard boiled egg for protein. Last night we had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. We've had so many one dish meals lately and I was craving a meat and sides dish.

I'm so excited about Costco opening in November. I've never set foot in one but everyone who has really loves it. We've had Sams and BJ's around here for years but people have been clamoring for Costco. We're finally getting one and only minutes from my house.
