Carrie12345 Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 I have felt almost completely paralyzed with trying to plan out our packing/moving situation because there was so much uncertainty about how long our house build would take. Our builders had been capable of 4-6 month builds, but were running more 6-9 by the time we were starting, and then they were concerned about potentially going 12+ months. So it’s just been very up in the air since May. Today I got my update. We’re scheduled to be ready in about 5 months, give or take 30 days. And now I’m paralyzed with trying to plan our packing/moving situation even with that information. 🤣 Picture for funzies. I don’t know why it’s sideways. 7 Quote

ARe you going to sell your other home after you move into the new one? I’d love to get it sold in advance, I’m just not counting on it. There are a few projects we’ve wanted to finish before listing - especially the ones we already have materials for! And I think I’ll feel better about showing the house once we get a pod to shove stuff in. Even with regular decluttering, this place has a lot of people’s stuff in tiny areas! Plus, I do want some flexibility in moving, anyway. We’re going 3 miles down the road, so it isn’t like we HAVE to be done in an afternoon, yk? And it’s going to be winter. Working around storms or extra cold temps instead of having to push through might be nice. I don’t know. My brain is practically mush right now! 1 Quote
Carrie12345 Posted August 12, 2021 Author Posted August 12, 2021 Adding - it sounds (and now feels) fast, but we did start this process around March, so I feel like it’s already been forever, lol. Quote
sangtarah Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 Congratulations! It must feel so nice to get a timeframe! We are trying to add on to a new house. We hired a contractor in May and told him it needed to be down by first week of October. We are still waiting for them to start!! It’s been SO frustrating! Quote
