Good morning!

I have missed you guys! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

We closed Friday, and it has been a whirlwind ever since. We moved mattresses and a good bit of the boxes Friday night. We had help for the furniture Saturday. I have forgotten how much work it is to move in (more than packing to me). We have less storage space in this house, so I will be getting rid of more things.

We move ds to the dorm Friday, so it’s going to be a busy week!

  • Meals
  • contact admissions about a missing document for ds that I know we turned in
  • Ds get second vaccine
  • finalize his enrollment and get final balance
  • internet installation this afternoon
  • Get washer and dryer hooked up
  • finish unpacking kitchen (made a lot of progress on this yesterday)
  • Meal plan and grocery list
  • grocery shop
  • Look for bar stools and new dining table/chairs
  • Help ds with his room and decisions about stuff going or staying

Congratulations on your new home, Amy. I hope the rest of your move-in goes smoothly. Today's plan:

Pick up a fruit tray at 8, be at school at 830

My students/parents are scheduled to come in today, so it will be a fun day of meeting my kiddos

No cooking as I won't get home until after 6

If I don't get my school computer today, I am not responsible for my actions

So much to do today:

  • go to Target and return some items and I have a list of things to buy, including cough meds for my poor kid who can't stop coughing
  • return Amazon items to Whole Foods
  • Laundry
  • Clean master bedroom and purge some items
  • take one load to the Goodwill truck. (yeah, I know, Goodwill isn't the best but it is either the truck near my house or the dumpster at this point)
  • Make a chart for the boys to help clean the main floor, company coming Wed for a few hours to visit
  • FIND MY BLACK OVERPIECE.....ugh, I have been looking for weeks, but hoping cleaning up the master will help me find it
  • haircut
  • order eye brow pencils
  • MAKE AN EATING PLAN list

I know there is more, I just can't think of it at the moment.   I go back to my reg. job Thur.

Good morning!  Welcome back Amy, we missed you too! Happy unpacking!!

My list today:

....coffee
....decide on my plans for school re: Covid -- strongly leaning towards sticking to individual rug mats, and splitting up the lunches again to maintain social distancing; this Delta variant is just no joke, and seems to be impacting kids more
....email my directors,
and then parents, once I decide
....laundry
....finish sewing my friend's gift for her new job, package that up, mail it
....package up and mail a different friend's gift
....lunch -- leftovers
....dinner -- turkey and salad I think, need to check (DH smoked a turkey, to share with neighbors, so we're using that in place of chicken this week)

....fencing, I think (they had a Covid case on Thurs, but everyone was vaxxed and masked, so doesn't meet CDC guideline of close contact/exposure, so they aren't closing, so we need to decide are we comfortable with that, knowing the coaches were exposed on Thurs, do we still go....? Coaches were also vaxxed and masked, so should be okay, I think, right???)
....if we wait a few more days on fencing, then maybe watch a movie instead tonight

Have a good day everyone!

Howdie, happy Monday!

Today is a day to "just do it!"  I did almost zero client work over the weekend, so my butt needs to get and stay in gear!

Done:

  • Slept in between many alarms.
  • Morning pup duty.
  • Kids up and off to band camp.
  • A little bit of housework.
  • A short business conversation.
  • Caught up on emails, calendar, news, and social media.

To do:

  • Lots of client work.
  • Hope to take a shower!
  • More pup duty.
  • Kid2's optometrist appointment.
  • Kid1 soccer.
  • Both kids' Invisalign appointment.
  • Probably 2 loads of laundry & clean the kitchen.
  • Make the kids do pup duty, housework, math, writing, babysitting course.  Maybe play a game.
  • Whatever else gets done.

...coffeed

....emailed the directors asking to split my lunches up

....have 3 different options in my amazon cart for adding rug squares so I have enough for 12 students at a time (I originally bought a set of 10 which was my max), need to decide which one to go with

...need to look into another face shield/mask option for me -- I have one still, but there are some other options I found later on that may work better than what I have

...eating something then going up to sew

Morning started off great - drove with DDs for drive hours to DD17’s new campus. Let her familiarize with area.

Came home to DS16 who is being the world’s biggest jerk. Meds? Nope. Got dressed (10:30)? Nope. Watching TV? Yup. (Not allowed during the weekday for teens and esp. not for him because MATH.) And yelling at DD13 who reminded him to do his math. SMH

Rest of the day will be spent contemplating life choices and trying to figure out how to do this school year with him w/o wanting to drive away and not come back. And the doctors advise avoiding stress…. Bwaaahaaahahaha. Mind you, his eight days in Colorado were peacefully idyllic.

Finished assembling the 2 pieces for the present for my friend, pausing there for a nap

emailed our fencing club to see if we can move the kids' lessons to our account, b/c they auto renewed 2 days early and we were going to cancel

DH suggested maybe look at big rugs that have sit spots, so checking those out as well. Would be easier, but of course also, pricier. We shall see.

Ordered a rug; found an 8x10 rug with 12 separate spots, for $161 with tax. That should meet my needs, I hope.

Got the fencing stuff sorted out, and they will allow DH & I to use the kids' classes (yay!). Twice-a-week fencing for us this month...yippee! Let's hope I can keep up.

Still no word back from the directors on my lunch request.

Going up to finish the sewing project.

Directors wrote back and approved my lunch/recess change, so I will email my parents tomorrow accordingly. No word on the masks.  I have to assume we'll be optional only.

Got almost done with my friend's gift (a lunch bag) and the lining layers gave me fits -- got it done, finally, only to find that the vinyl part had slipped terribly, so need to take that portion apart (just 2 last seams), pin better, and redo it.

Never did laundry.

Dinner is simmering, DH is prepping/freezing the rest of the smoked turkey and the rest of the weekend's leftover taco meat for future meals.

After dinner, DH & I will go to fencing. Should be fun!

@BlsdMama, I'm sorry your ds is being difficult!

@TheReader, enjoy fencing!

I did more work in the kitchen, but there's still more to be unpacked.

I never made a full grocery list, and I need to at least run to the store for breakfast food. Thankfully, there are two grocery stores within just a mile. I love our location! We are in a wooded, quiet neighborhood, but have the two grocery stores, numerous restaurants, a library, dh's school, and a small hospital within a 2 mile radius.
