Jenny in Florida Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Almost to the end of the work week . . . I think I can. I think I can. I think I can . . . Remember: These threads are for those who'd like accountability and encouragement in doing intentional daily movement. Anyone may join in at any time! 1 Quote
Jenny in Florida Posted August 5, 2021 Author Posted August 5, 2021 After a really damp day yesterday (had to do a long-ish ride on the stationary bike and a Leslie Sansone video to top off my steps), it wasn't raining this morning. So dog and I got out for 3.3K of walking, after which I spent about 25 minutes with weights, resistance bands and a brief jog on the mini-trampoline. Now that my class is over, I (in theory) have more time and energy to get more intentional and creative about afternoon/evening movement . . . at least until the fall semester rolls around and I have classes two nights a week plus reading and assignments to do. Trying to make the most of this interlude. Summer Splash Challenge Update: 317.1 of 500K Daily Walking Streak: 159 Days West Orange Trail: 10.85 of 22 miles 2 Quote
Harriet Vane Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 I would normally do weights and core today, but there is no time. Heading out to connect with a dear friend. My hope is to get in some walking and stretching. 2 Quote

sbgrace Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 I went on a long walk and talk with my parents tonight. I haven't seen them in a while. It wasn't fantastic cardio (and I haven't the time to add it today), but it was so nice! 1 Quote
sbgrace Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Jenny, Yesterday you wrote something about holding the line being better than the alternative. I started to reply then, but worried it would come across weird. But it's stuck with me today. So..it is so much better, yes! I have, for too many years, had patterns where I got into a good for me fitness routine and, when things got busy, I would lose my momentum and eventually just quit for a long time until something started me again. It was always hard to start again because it was back to the beginning for me every time. I don't think I'm unusual in that pattern. So, I've been impressed with your "stick to it" pattern of fitness, even when your life has been so much that I know I would struggle. You're doing great. I hope you feel good about it yourself! 1 Quote
