We are having a hard time finding a good KF-94 or similar quality mask for my tall husband. His proper nose bridge to under chin measurement is 7”. The Happy Mask XL tops out at 6.5”. Ideas??

Let me look at the measurements on the BOTN L and get back to you.

Yeah, 7” is a big face! I’m not sure I’m reading the measurements on the mask data chart correctly, so I’m asking someone I know who has one if they can measure their BOTN for me. I’m going to link this video I shared in the other thread again here, and if you go to the nine minute mark, he shows his two favorite masks for big faces. I’ll be back when I have proper measurements for you. I’m not sure how far back you’re measuring with that under chin measurement you gave.

(9:00 mark for large masks)

I found measurements for the LG Airwasher, which is his other recommendation for large faces and from his chart, has slightly smaller measurements than the BOTN:

Thanks for checking!

I am measuring him per the happy mask instructions—bridge of nose to about 1/4” under the chin—just barely enough to cover and hook under. My well fitting masks go a bit deeper under the chin, but we are just trying to find something functional.

In normal KF94s if he fits at the bridge, it doesn’t reach the bottom of the chin, let alone go under. If we fit under the chin, he only has coverage to lower nose.

Shoes, trousers, hats, socks—it’s always been hard to find something that fits properly.

Um, no it doesn't.  I just checked the HM measurements- the XL is 18.5 cm from bridge of nose to under chin, which is 7.28 inches.

Awesome! I was just going off of the suggested measurement guidelines from their webpage. In imperial measurements they suggested the mask was for 5.5-6.5” in the XL.

I looked again and found the other pic you mention...  I mean, one is measuring the face and the other the actual mask, which does stand away from the face...

Hm, I measured my face and mine's a bit over 5" and I wear the Large, which does match with the suggested numbers.  Your dh does have a big face! 😅😷

I was just looking at the mask data now that I'm on computer, and the Airwasher is just a smidge below 7".  But, I also noticed the Masklab boat style masks measure right at 7". I don't quite know the deal with them, because they say they are KF94 style, but aren't actually made in Korea. They did peform well in tests, though. And they come in some amazing prints (which your dh probably doens't care about). How about this avocado one?

With any of these (and any mask), it's good to make sure you pinch the nose wire downward toward your cheeks when you put it on, to form the seal (not just pinching your nose). The tests show a significant increase in effectiveness just from that actually. The Masklab ones come from here:

Update: the BOTN XL is a perfect fit!!! Solid seal, no fogging, super comfy—it’s a trifecta of wins! (They were backordered so they took forever to get here.)

The Dr. Puri large was passable, but not great. They do fit well on another kid, so that was a good buy.

Thank you @KSera & @Matryoshka!!
