Janeway Posted July 20, 2021 Posted July 20, 2021 Last year, we used both TGTB LA4 and BJU English 5. Then we took a break and did a bunch of reading. When we started TGTB LA5, it seemed easy for him, but did not give it might thought, until I was considering placing him in public school. Then they bumped him up to 7th grade. Since I am thinking I will still homeschool him, I gave him the placement exam for TGTB. He tested in to TGTB LA6. Fact is, TGTB LA5 would still give him reading, stories he has not read, more practice on grammar, etc. TGTB LA6 would be at a higher level. I OWN TGTB LA5 now, I do not own LA6. He really likes TGTB LA but I have grown disenchanted with it. Should I just have him continue with TGTB LA5 and then re-evaluate when we finish this? Quote
countrymum Posted July 20, 2021 Posted July 20, 2021 I would just finish out 5 as you look for something new, especially if you don't think you will stay with tgatb. If you decide to stay with tgatb then get 6 or retest for a possible jump to 7. Either way it won`t hurt him;) Quote
