gardenmom5 Posted July 20, 2021 Posted July 20, 2021 To get off the glue from the back of preglued velcro - that sticks to *everything*! (especially if it get's hot and the glue melts so it falls off of what you actually stuck it to . . . ) And when the glue didn't want to be viscous anymore - i let it sit in the sun. . . . I ended up rubbing coarse grind corn meal into the glue. The glue sticks to the cornmeal, and comes right off. With a vacuum and a wet rag. . . . I still need to finish (and then I can put the thing away) - but at least it's not sticky anymore. . . . . finger nail polish remover wouldn't touch it . . . .(well, not much anyway. It was my go-to for tree sap when I was growing up.) ** fortunately, I was able to staple the velcro to the item to which I wanted it attached. (the other side stuck just fine.) that seems to have worked. Sewing was out as the glue would gunk up the needle. 2 Quote
