lanabug Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 Anyone else waiting on IEW to release Year 2 of Structure & Style for Students? I need Level B...it keeps getting delayed. So what are you planning to do in the meantime? I'm debating about either using Wordsmith since it's already on my shelf, or having my students do more writing from their history and literature. CAtoVA Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 UGH!!! Still delayed? Do you have any idea why? Quote
lanabug Posted July 19, 2021 Author Posted July 19, 2021 I have no idea! Their website says the DVDs will be available in August. I guess the streaming version is available now, but I prefer the DVDs. Quote
CAtoVA Posted July 20, 2021 Posted July 20, 2021 Yes, I want the DVDs as well. I think it originally was supposed to be ready in February (?) Then it was June, then July and now AUGUST? And NO explanation? Wow. Quote
CAtoVA Posted July 20, 2021 Posted July 20, 2021 (edited) What am I planning to do in the meantime.....This is for one of my DD's who just turned 13 and finished 7th grade in June. I am probably going to accelerate her to 9th because I realized that she is really doing (or ready to start doing) mostly high school work. Last year we started Writing with Skill Level 1 so we will finish that and start Level 2. I am also looking at some online short writing courses (like 6-8 week courses). Right now, my DD is working on a short summer writing course through AIM Academy (AP English Essay Writing). At this rate, by the time SSS Level B Year 2 is "ready" I may not need it and may just go on to Level C. I probably would prefer SSS Level C Year 2, though but I think that is like one or more years out (?) At this rate it will be ready in 2025. What are your plans? Edited July 20, 2021 by CAtoVA Quote
Momto6inIN Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 I would just apply what they've learned in Year 1 to writing in other subjects. We had a fantastic year that way when my DS was resistant to Mr. Pudewa/IEW techniques but still desperately needed the practice so I slipped in some stealth IEW assignments 😎 with his other work and it was a great year! 1 Quote
Slache Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 I like streaming. I use SWB's The Creative Writer between IEW years. Thirty six lessons, eighteen on fiction, eighteen on poetry. The directions say to use it once a week but I'm a rebel. 1 Quote
