GM Recalls Over 400,000 Pickup Trucks Due to Air Bags Exploding - Hip2Save

Today, July 9th, NPR reported a GM recall of over 400,000 full-size pickup trucks over concerns of air bags randomly exploding and their parts being ejected into cabins.

According to Consumer Reports, this recall affects a total of 410,019 trucks — including select 2015-2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500 and 3500 models; as well as GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 and 3500 models.

Starting August 16th, affected owners will be notified by mail. With only a limited amount of replacement air bag modules available, GM will contact customers to schedule a free fix after this initial notice.
