I’m helping an elderly friend manage a rental by helping them find a new tenant. I have two qualified applicants who want the house and have gone through lots of hoops to secure employment verifications, prior residence verifications, etc. I now have a third highly qualified applicant (more qualified than the other 2) who just popped up and is strongly interested. I should be so happy to have 3 strong candidates! Instead, I am super stressed because I will have to say no to 2 of them and disappoint them!

Honestly this is the game, and those looking to rent in most areas know they will be asked to provide such.  Pick the best candidate, and give the other 2 as much time as you can to secure another housing option.
