Rats!!! Forgot to meet a friend to go walking early this morning. My brain has strong seive-like characteristics these days…

Ordered a book from Amazon and worked on my reading list.

Made coffee and had the last piece of zucchini bread for b’fast. Definitely a no-no with gluten and sugar in it, but I have been very good all week and can get away with one small cheat early in the day.

@ScoutTN, I’m sorry you forgot!

We are on the road and have already dropped of the boxes at the UPS store.

It looks like there are a couple traffic delays going into Cincinnati, but we can find a way around if they get worse.

Home from dropping the kids off -- going to swap laundry and take a nap (woke up migrainey, took meds, it's improving, but hopefully the nap will take care of it for good for the day)

Did an errand for mom, across town.

Stopped by the pool to pick up a swim team t-shirt for Ds and chat with coaches.

Lunching on leftovers and miscellaneous things from the fridge.

Paid a bill.

Howdie, happy Friday!

I was up late last night winding down from a domestic fuss.  😕

I set my alarms, got up, woke my kids, and the next thing I knew it was 2 minutes before band camp start.  So we were late.  Oh well.  It was an optional practice anyway.  Read the kids the riot act on the way to the camp.

Had a hopefully productive conversation with one of the adults in the house.  Trying to remember that this is more about cultural and personality differences than anything else.

Picked up the kids, grabbed drive-thru lunch, and drove them to the park, where Kid1 was supposed to meet the soccer coach to try out new fitness equipment.  However, Kid1 refused to get out of the car.  Apparently she didn't have enough prior warning, had a stomach ache, had the wrong shoes, didn't see any of her teammates there, etc. etc.  I went myself to talk to the coach, thinking that would embarrass her enough that she'd get out and go, but nope.  It turned out she really needed to be in cleats to do what he wanted, and we didn't have the cleats with me.  Coach was very nice about it and said nice things about my kid.  I promised to try to have kid check out the equipment over the weekend and give feedback.

Listened some more to the audiobook.

Kids have promised to take the pup to the park and then supervise him in the house for at least a half hour.

Back home, I have done a tiny bit of client work.

To do:

  • Monitor and nag the kids.  No more Ms. Nice Mom.  June is over and I'm caught up on my sleep.
  • Print out math work for them to do later this afternoon.
  • More client work.
  • Pay bills.
  • Laundry - especially the kids' summer band uniform, as they have a parade tomorrow morning.
  • Exercise, I hope.  Shower.
  • Dinner out, probably.
  • Evening pup duty.
  • Whatever else gets done.

“Find something for DS” turned into: Teach him how to cut inside corners for trim...

Other than that I got coffee done, lol.
We got my dresser back in my bedroom! 🎉

Messaged mirror lady and found pallets.

Now to do the other things.

Quick trip to Publix, but they had no tart cherries. Unloaded groceries.

Did some tidying up and some electronic chores. Running a scan to see if Windows can fix the not-working start button.

Wrote a TY note to the troop with which Ds camped this week and attached it to some Oreos.

Snack - peach. Yumm.

Leaving to get Ds in about an hour. Several small tidying/cleaning tasks between now and then.

Up from my nap; less tired, still headachy. :sigh:

Tried to watch a show on Hulu while I fold laundry (not yet folded b/c of what followed), found no Hulu, messaged Sprint/T-Mobile to find out why, long frustrating chat with the "real person" chat-feature not productive, so gave up and decluttered drawers instead.

Three of four drawers done -- one of the 3 is stuff I need to either donate/sell/give away; one of the 3 is playdough & supplies which I need a better portable container for; one of the 3 is all of the classroom extras (crayons, markers, erasers, pencils, etc.) which I need to go through and load into supply containers/bags/whatever for this coming year.

The 4th drawer is "craft junk" which will be a big job and needs likely lots of mini containers for sorting, etc. Will start with ziptop baggies (this weekend??) and proceed from there. Not today.

Think I will find something else to watch on TV, not the Hulu show, and fold the now 2 loads waiting. Leave in an hour to pick up the kids.

Thanks, Kelly. I do not have it. I have an iPhone, and I've always used the map app that comes with it. I could check into that, too.

picked up kids

still need to fold laundry -- dh and I are both feeling allergy-ish/migrainey (the agriculture field by us which used to alternate cotton & corn each year, then stuck to cotton for a few years in a row, which bugs dh's allergies but not mine, is doing sorghum this year, which apparently bugs both of us....)

I think dh is cooking the fajitas, if being outside doesn't bug him too much; coming up with a back-up plan just in case

My boy is home and clean. His stinky laundry is running and camp stuff sorted.

I am so glad he finished the week! Scout camp is a lot of work and responsibility. It’s tiring! He earned two merit badges, about 3/4 of another one, and completed the mile swim in the lake. He made friends from other troops, learned his way around a part of camp that he was not familiar with, and learned how to be a provisional camper with a troop other than his own. I am proud of him.

He’s off to visit with a neighbor friend and share his adventures.

I expect he’ll watch tv and go to bed early tonight!

Dinner is plan b after all, dh is zonked out on the couch - allergies (seasonal? pollen/sinus stuff?) have been kicking his butt lately, worse than normal. (a gradual worsening the last couple of years). I'm glad he's resting, so instead I made panzenella (sp??) with added ground chicken.

We will eat and then.....???

Wishing everyone a happy weekend!
