Good morning!

  • Today I teach two students virtually. Need to do some prep for that.
  • Then lunch out with a friend.
  • Then housework - nothing got cleaned this past weekend.
  • Always - some electronic chores
  • Maybe a walk in the evening?

Hi Scout! Thanks for starting today.

My tutoring for today got postponed, as the little boy has a blood draw this morning and I thought maybe he won't be cooperative right after, so we start tomorrow.

So, my today  now has:
....coffee
....do some decluttering -- bookshelf?? pantry?? sewing room??
....do some laundry
....plan dinner (thinking pasta alfredo, maybe)
....call/check on my grandma (she should hopefully be released today)
....after dinner, watch Lego Masters
.....nap at some point hopefully
....whatever I'm forgetting

Good morning everyone!! The sun is shining today, and it's not supposed to rain--and it's not as hot as last week. Today's plan:

Coffee-done

Breakfast-done

Weed

Keep hacking at a bush I started taking out yesterday-done

Work on electronic catch up-done

Try to figure out why Google Drive is so slow-I wanted to get things organized this summer

Paint

Clean the floors-done

Launder the sheets-done

Cook-lasagna since we didn't have it yesterday-it's in the oven

Whatever I am forgetting

Okay, finished the coffee and the computer things. Had breakfast. Diving into the "declutter the bookshelf" thing now.....oof. Wish me luck. Goal: be done by naptime.

ummm......how's "be done clearing off and rearranging/reorganizing the top shelf by naptime...." ???? Practically the same, right.....?? oof.

Y'all who are praying people, please pray for my boy, who is at his second week of Scout camp and asking to come home. We are not inclined to let him quit, but it tugs on my mama heart to hear him when he's down.  He is not sick, seems to have made friends fine, and has fun badges to do.

Please pray for energy and perseverance. It's hot and he's tired. And the food is not very good.

We do have friends from our troop working at camp who are going to check in on him tonight or tomorrow.

Absolutely will pray. Those things are so hard as a parent. I'm glad you guys have friends there to check on him.

@ScoutTN, praying for your son!

We are in Asheville for our 30th anniversary today! We didn’t have time to do much planning, and a lot of things here are closed on Tuesdays, but we are having fun anyway.

I will pray for your son, Scout.

Went to wound care doctor- he is not happy with the progress of the secondary wound.  He also wasn't happy with how awful my skin is reacting to the months of adhesive bandages.  I am back to using protein on the wound, but now just putting gauze on the top and then ace bandage and then compression thing on top of that.  Also, I don't need to go weekly anymore, biweekly is what I will be doing.

Praying the wound heals up, Chris.

Amy, happy anniversary!

I got the bookshelf done enough for today. Such a huge job, but I got all of the main shelves of books done -- sorted, a give-away pile removed, and everything to keep back on the shelves in an organized fashion. Throughout the rest of the week I have more sections to do, but this is a very good start.

Stopped and played video games with DH for a bit.

Will cook dinner in a while - something with ground beef (we didn't have the right kind of meat to add to alfredo stuff).  Either spaghetti or tacos or something. We'll see.

Got books for three of Dd's classes ordered, for less than $100 total. Very happy with that.
Got my car washed, but squished my finger in a door. Not hard, but there is a cut and it does hurt.
Picked up CSA veggies.
Sent Dh to the store for soy sauce, which I was almost out of, but didn't know it. Dinner is eggroll in a bowl.

Going out to a nearby lake for a walk with Dh later. It might rain, but it is it much cooler and less humid than it was earlier today.

Scout, I hope your son gets some relief from the weather and is able to stick it out.  I've been where you are, and it isn't fun.  😞

Well ... it's my deadline day and I still have 2 projects that are not submitted!  Maybe I should call it deadbeat day ....

Status:

  • Project 1 - still waiting for the government to fix a problem on its website, and/or move the impossible due date.  So annoying!!
  • Project 2 - the client waited until this afternoon to ask another party for info.  Other party has not answered.  If I don't hear from them by about 11:30pm, I will just submit as is.  Really wanted to be done by now!

Most of what I did today was organizational.

I let my kid sleep through her noon online math class.  We are just too behind.  We can catch up later, when I don't have to feel guilty for every minute I spend away from client work.  We did look at the first class video last night, and it was a good refresher.  Certainly better than doing no math all summer.  I'm trying to get her to do at least a half a page of problems per day, starting today ....

Soccer was canceled due to thunder storms.  Other kid also didn't go horse riding, claiming too many painful bug bites.  I don't have time to fight about it right now.

I told them to practice their instruments.  So far I'm not hearing any lovely sounds.

I do think they have been spending time with the pup.  And they are getting their own food.  So that's something, right?  It is summer, after all.  😛  This is their first free weekday since Spring break.

Dh cleaned up the kitchen after dinner. ❤️

We took a nice walk at a small arboretum nearby. But when we were on our way out, the dumb dog rolled in something awful, so then I had to bathe him, and wash the towels.

No housework done at all.

Some electronic chores.

Squished finger hurts. Need more topical pain stuff on it.

Next up (after retrieving the neosporin with pain relief from my car): read!
