Dish Network

I hesitate to even start this thread as most of us aren't huge TV watchers, and my dad always hated TV.

But somehow, now that he has nothing else much to do, he likes it.   He wants Dish as that is what he and mom had in AZ and he is familiar with it.   He hasn't liked cable at his current place.

I have just made the appt for them to come and install next week.   

However, I also realized I am signing a 2 year commitment and I don't even know if Dad will be with us that long.   He is paying for most of it.   We will pay for the extra DVRs, but he will pay for the service and main DVR.

Anyway, I am not asking for other suggestions, we are getting what Dad wants, but I am wondering if any of you have it and I have questions:

1.  It says you can stream from any device?   So, if a bedroom has a Roku, Firestick,  or smart TV we don't need a joey for that room?   Am I understanding that correctly?

2.   What else do I need to know?

I'm pretty sure you need a Joey for each tv, except for the main tv which has the hopper.   I have Roku and from what I can tell, dish network is not available thru Roku (I assume fire stick is the same).

I think you can use a fire stick, but I am not sure if it is only streaming stuff or if you can watch recorded shows from your main hopper or any live shows.
