So exciting, Amy!!

had a busy weekend -- we had the family of the 4 (now 5) yr old over for pizza in our pizza oven last night......on what turned out to be the first "Heat Advisory" day of the year (until 7 pm). Our backyard thermometer was showing 104* still at around 6 pm......by 8 or so it had dropped to about 97* and humidity hovering around 50%. :sigh:  We moved the whole thing inside except for poor DH out there getting the fire going all day and cooking the pizzas.

Anyway, so, today:

....coffee
....laundry (in the hustle/bustle of yesterday, I think I left jeans in the wash overnight, which probably means I need to rewash them)
....lunch -- leftovers
....dinner -- hopefully also leftovers, but not sure -- take stock of that and figure out if we have enough or I need to cook something for dinner
*Not enough leftovers for dinner, but took some pulled pork from the freezer, so that's done
....quilt the table topper  *done enough for today
....work on plans for the boy with Autism    *Two pages of ideas/notes ready, feeling like it's a good start until we get in there and get going
....email my grandma, see if we can plan another visit
....nap at some point
....fencing tonight (remember to go in and sign us up/in for the class)
....home, rest, veg out, etc.

Have a good day everyone!

*coffee'd

*ate my lunch, food is out/ready for kids when they get hungry, DH has a lunch meeting for work so just left for that

*dinner is planned - pulled pork from the freezer, just thaw, heat, serve before we go to fencing

*two pages of ideas for the boy with autism - I think this is more than enough to start, b/c a lot will be tweaking as we go, figuring out what works best with him

*DH remembered to accept our house value tax protest offer thing (no change, but we don't want to go thru the appeal, so that's fine)

*emailed grandma

*heading up to rotate laundry and quilt the table topper

Still waiting on the counter details...

I did the errands out including setting up the UHaul for next weekend.

I can only get a busy signal at the post office there. Not sure what is up with that.

I just watched an episode of The Crown.

*three-quarters through quilting the table topper, and stopping there for today while I ponder the remainder. Very pleased with it so far.

*towels/sheets folded (were in the dryer waiting), jeans dried & hung up (were in the washer, did not need to be rewashed), whites in the dryer (started this morning), and shirts/colored clothes in the wash (will be the last load of the day)

*grandma emailed back and we have tentative plans for this week

*just finished a snack of triscuits, cheese, and tomatoes (so.many.tomatoes.) and heading for a much-needed nap

*went with DH to drop off a package

*took another nap

*got an alert that ERCOT wants us to conserve electricity all week due to "higher than normal demand" because some generators are offline or something or other, which seems very extra poor planning b/c while we might not usually freeze in the winter, "hot" in June is not exactly unprecedented...... and of course got that alert *after* tossing in the 2nd/3rd load of laundry for the day. Oops.  (I did, however, bump our A/C up a degree, and unplug my printer, and we otherwise are pretty electricity conserving, so......)

*eating then heading to fencing - night, all!

  • Slept very little because I was theoretically doing laundry.
  • Got up for the pup because the person who promised did not do so.  Then finished my laundry.
  • Packed kid's soccer bag in case we had to go straight there after camp.
  • Read the memo about what the kids need for this week's camp.  (Lunches, closed toed shoes, not much else.)
  • Sent out a client report that I'd forgotten about until last Friday.
  • Kids up, ready for camp.
  • Drove the kids to Jr. Medical camp.  Listened to audiobook.
  • Car maintenance appointment.  Worked at the dealership.
  • Grabbed some lunch food at a grocery store.
  • Found a library to work at.  It was strangely hard to get to despite being right on the street I drove down.
  • Picked up the kids & drove home.  Finished "Of Mice and Men" audiobook.  Not a book I'd recommend, but hey, we finished it.
  • Put the kids on pup duty and took a nap.
  • Kid1 to soccer scrimmage.
  • Made a car appointment for the company van for Thursday.
  • Walked the pup & put him to bed.
  • Some kitchen work.  Helped kid2 with some cooking.

I am hoping to get some sleep tonight and get up early tomorrow.  We'll see....

Tomorrow is tax payment day.  Since I'll be away from home most of the day, I need to remember this in the morning and bring what is needed with me.  I hope my brain works that well in the morning.  (Heck, maybe I'd better just pack the stuff now.)
