Good morning!

The home inspection went fine, so we are moving forward. We leave for north GA today to look at houses. This will be the first time we leave ds alone at home overnight. I'm a bit nervous about that.

I hope everyone has a great day!!

@mom31257 Hooray for a good inspection! Praying for a good house for you!

Today I have tons of AHG stuff to do and cannot get sidetracked!

Ds to the pool? If it doesn’t rain.

Tutor two students in person. Then one virtually. Log sessions.

AHG things!!

Dinner is whatever’s in the fridge.

AHG meeting this evening.

Safe travels, Amy!

Today I need to reply to a few emails, and then head down to visit my Grandma; we have a whole day planned. I would love prayer that she be able to hear me well -- she got hearing aids last summer, but my voice still doesn't always register (not so much that I speak quietly, but the tone? range? frequency? whatever of my voice) and it makes it hard to communicate like we used to. And reminds me she really is aging. And I just really want this to be a GOOD visit (and then we'll do this more frequently). But it's hard when I feel like I can't talk to her. Anyway, would love prayer on that.

Other than that, not much on my plate. I'll be out most of the day. Need to remind DH that means he's in charge of dinner. Then tonight after dinner, we'll watch Loki I think. Or maybe go to fencing, not sure.

Happy Thursday, everyone!

@mom31257Hope you find your dream home

@TheReaderPrayers for a great visit. I've heard that speaking in a lower tone helps people hear better.

I hope to get a lot done today!! Plans are:

Cook-not sure what yet

Clean the floors

Clean the bathrooms

Groceries for MIL

Groceries for us

Weed

Paint

Deal with the mail-shred

Happy Thursday!  So far so good.  (Other than sleep ... but what's new about that ....)

So the library close to my kids' camp is allowing people to work inside, yay!  But I am still in my car, in their parking lot, because I had to take a client call.  So I'm running down my laptop battery and my gas tank while charging my phone battery.  😛  Debating whether or not to go get something to eat/drink before I camp out in the library.

Done:

  • Up early to do some work, but I didn't do much.
  • Pup duty started at 6:15.
  • I found pup's tags, yay!  Still debating the best way to attach them to his new collar.
  • Folded and put away a load of laundry, packed kid's soccer bag for tonight.
  • Kids up and ready.
  • Shower/hair wash & packed my bag for the road.
  • Kids to camp about on time, yay!
  • Took a conference call & did some work in my car.
  • Caught up on calendar, emails, news, social media, and checked the kids' grades.

To do:

  • Lots of client work.
  • Audiobook with the kids.
  • Kid2 to horse riding.
  • Kid1 to soccer game.
  • Technology stuff with the kids.
  • Walk the pup etc.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Started off pretty well with a workout. Took care of figuring out accommodations for when we help dd and her new husband move. Emptied the dishwasher. And then the big slump--I've gotten hardly anything done. Started off with a big plunge in my energy because I waited too long to eat lunch and have been shockingly unproductive since.

I hope to tidy the house before my cleaning teen comes this evening and figure out something for dinner. I've got sooooo much work stacked up for my job--all of it pleasant stuff I like doing, but lots of it. Tonight we have foster parent training and I hope to fiddle my way through some odds and ends like laundry, mending, a good foot soak. Better get my rear in gear.

Home from the visit; it went really well. Thank you all for praying! Now that it's summer, we have plans to continue meeting up/visiting more often. She's "only" an hour away, but during the school year it's so hard to get down there. It was also a little bittersweet of a visit....she's talking about selling their Mid-Century Modern furniture (none of "the kids" want it) and I would LOVE to own it, but there is roughly zero chance we can buy it. And honestly, DH doesn't like it, we have no place for it, but....waaaah. It makes me sad. It's totally the right thing for her to do, though. But also reminds me....she will, at some point, not be here with us anymore. I'm in firm denial on that. (she's not sick or anything like that, just 85......).

ETA:  I don't want that to read like "I want her furniture and can't have it" -- that's not what makes me sad. It makes me sad to think that my grandma, who in my mind is basically immortal, is at the point in her life where she has to think about things like her will, and what to do with her stuff, and.....I don't want her to die.  But, she will. And that sucks.  That is all.

Anyway, the visit was really good. I promised to bring her tomatoes next time (I should have thought of it this time), and I may take her to buy some paints next time too (she's painting again, but her Hobby Lobby moved).

Going to answer a few more emails that came in while I was gone, and then figure out what the plans are for the evening. DH is on a conference call so I can't ask him yet if we're doing fencing or not, etc.
