Good morning!

Dh is off to school, and it's his last day until late August when he starts his new job!  We can finally get serious at looking for houses. We have appointments for tomorrow, and I've requested our realtor call a few for sale by owners that I found.

We hear today if they will request anything from the home inspection. Anxiously awaiting that....

  • meals
  • do some paperwork with ds due to his college
  • pay bills/update checking
  • laundry
  • go get a birthday card and gift card for sister and put in the mail
  • VBS at church

Well, from about 5am it's been a pretty good day so far.  Prior to 5am was my all-too-common alarm-snooze dance, so I'm not sure how much sleep I got, but not much.  That's what coffee's for!

Done:

  • Got up at 5am to get some work done.  Sent out some client work about 8am.  I think I'm on the home stretch with that particular mega project.
  • Morning pup duty.  It was great except when pup got angry at his new water bucket.  He likes to dump and play with his water bowl (even though it's supposedly un-dumpable), so I decided to try a metal bucket with a tether (what my sister / pup's breeder uses).  I filled it up and tethered it to a corner of his kennel.  But it made him super mad that he couldn't pull it around.  He managed to spill all of it and threatened it with loud barking until I removed it.  Sigh.
  • Took out the garbage.
  • Cleaned the kitchen and got everything ready for the housemates to do dog duty through 4pm ish.
  • Kids up - they got themselves ready for camp - I hope they packed a proper lunch.  If they didn't, they will try harder tomorrow.
  • Took a shower and packed my bag for work away from home.
  • Drove kids to camp, made a quick shopping stop, drove self to sister's office, set up shop here.
  • Sent out a few more client emails.
  • Caught up on calendar, emails, news, social media, and checked the kids' grades.

To do:

  • Lots more client work.
  • Drive kids home while listening to audiobook.
  • Kid2 to horse riding.
  • Kid1 trumpet lesson & pay for the one we accidentally skipped last week.
  • Laundry.
  • Evening pup duty (walk & bed).
  • Get kid1 up to date on soccer stuff.
  • Get both kids set up to receive band messages on their phones.
  • Pay bills.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Well, I've only managed 2/3 of the "anything else I'm forgetting" so far..... :sigh:

Had an email from a mom asking about the book list for next year, so realized I'd better get those sent out. I really need to save this welcome email somewhere and just resend it each year instead of rewriting it.

Anyway, wrote the Kindergarten one, put in all the correct links, etc, and sent that.

Ate lunch, helped DH unload the dishwasher/reload it.

Made sure all the kids got lunch.

Researched tomato recipes for my 6 bazillion tomatoes.

Took a nap.

Got up, edited the K email into the 1st Grade email, sent that.

Now DH needs me to go with him to mail a package and help DS shoe shop for athletic shoes, will also make him stop and get his spare iron, etc. Will do the 2nd Grade email when I get back.

Did not get any significant AHG work done today.

Took Ds to my MIL’s to mow the yard. She has injured her back and can barely get out of bed. Tidied up the house and visited for a bit.

Dinner was pulled pork, sautéed rainbow chard, and asparagus. I have decided that I like white BBQ sauce better than the red.

Went to a friend’s to pick up the dress she and Dd made this spring and to drop off Ds’ Scout shirt for insignia to be updated before camp.

Got some cherries for my dessert.

Next up: a book!

Good evening!

Our home inspection much have been fine because they are not asking us to do anything!

@ScoutTN, we watched the new Loki series together and enjoyed it!

I never left the house until time to go to VBS, so I didn't get my sister a card in the mail. I really think with all that has been going on, she will understand. I would prefer to give her something in person, but I don't know exactly when we will be back up that way. We will go up this summer, though.

Laundry is going.

Got some good work done at my sister's office, but mostly a series of small things.  I still have one major thing to complete overnight.

Due to a traffic jam that changed plans, I was driving from 2:45-6:30pm with only very brief stops.  Not ideal work-wise.  😕

Went to change out the pup's collar, and discovered that his tags have fallen off.  Name/phone# tag, license tag, and rabies vax tag.  😕  One housemate thinks it might have happened after she attached the leash wrong and the dog pulled free ... if so, it's probably amidst the tall weeds/clover in the area where he poops.  Yay?  [ETA I just ordered a metal detector to help find it.  Hope the cheapy works as well as they say!]

And we have ants.  I put out Terro and hope it works.

Had to wash 2 loads of clothes in order for Kid1 to be ready for tomorrow's soccer game.

I might be wearing out my welcome with my sister (she keeps getting distracted to talk to me, though I try to keep mostly quiet).  I searched for libraries near my kids' camp, and there is one very close, but I can't tell if they have any place to sit and work for hours (especially in Covid times).  I will try to check it out tomorrow.

Getting nagged about work.  Let the stress fest begin.
