kristin0713 Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 I'm looking at this class for my upcoming sophomore. She has never taken German before, but wants to give it a try. I've looked at a few different programs and I like that this one has class twice a week. Any experience? https://www.clrconline.com/high-school-german-i-2/ Quote
RootAnn Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 My current college junior took two years w/CLRC German. They have had a lot of German teacher turnover so absolutely zero experience with the new teacher. IMO, CLRC is a good provider but each class really depends on the teacher. Email the teacher & ask how much homework, what is expected, where will the kid probably be after a year? Two years? Three? As far as language progression... Looks like they are changing textbooks, too. Mine had a blast. The class was fun & she liked learning German. It wasn't rigorous, however, so if you are looking for rigor, the above questions to the new teacher would be helpful. 2 Quote
stripe Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 Also some teachers are better at technology than others. Unfortunately they don’t seem to have German in the summer school workshops. Quote
ScoutTN Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 Idk, but I have a friend who will also have a student in that class. Quote
