Gwen Shamblin was in a plane crash and is presumed dead.   I didn't know she was divorced and remarried.   I didn't keep up with with her "ministry" after she started getting cultish.   I did read some opinion pieces of people who worked with her and their accounts of how off track he had gotten (from mainstream Christianity.)

I did follow that program for a while till I realized it was not nutritionally sound and she was not a good guide, spiritually or physically. I too was surprised to see that headline.

A friend's family started out with the weight loss book, and then some members of the family joined the church.  I don't want to go into details here, out of respect for my friend's privacy, but the cult-ish aspect of the church has done a number on their family.

That is what I had read from the accounts online of people who got really involved in it.    It is tragic all the way around.
