I'm just about done with the Down syndrome book on Fine Motor, but it didn't really answer what I'm supposed to do with a 12 yo, lol.

That's all. My brain is working significantly better, though maybe not as well as it might if I go back and do more HBOT. So we're getting things going for a brisk summer term since we used up our summer margin this winter term. On the plus side, he tested really well on his IEP testing except for computation, which even they admit they hardly care about so long as his word problem scores are good.

We had had a thread discussing some EF research on the idea of multisorts, and I'm thinking about how I can use that to step up my teaching. I think we could do more multisorts with math of course, but also states would be a fun way to do that. (sort by geography, sort by letters, sort by things produced, sort by proximity to water, sort by animals or terrain, etc.)

Y'all up to anything interesting?

I don't know if we are taking a break or making a permanent change.  We are more in "regular kid" mode instead of "remediation" mode.  Still doing an audiobook most nights.  Many nights he likes to listen in the bath tub and then as he falls asleep.

He has not shown a lot of academic gains lately in a way where I think it makes sense to keep going in remediation mode.  He has made some gains, but -- it's not like if we spent more time then he would make more gains.  I do not feel like that at all right now.

So we are more enjoying life 😉

Wednesday he is leaving with his sister for overnight church camp.  I am hoping it will go well.  He has been going to youth group and my daughter reports that he is either hyper or totally silent, but there is one boy who talks to him (I hope this boy will go to church camp), and I asked his teacher, and she thought he would do fine.  He went to special needs camp for two years, but not last year b/c corona.  I am assuming they will call me if there are any problems, and that the leader will look out for him.  They had a particular session for youth group kids to sign up for, and the youth group leader is going, and they will go in a church bus.

The Dodsworth books do look charming!
