She lives in another country and it was increasingly feeling like travel and a traditional wedding would be difficult if not impossible. They will certainly have a story to tell someday! But at least with our dd we'd been anticipating this, whereas in your situation it happened so suddenly. I'm sure it's such a disappointment!
