Melissa Louise Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Adult dd was confirmed this morning, at a solemn Mass at the Cathedral. I have so many thoughts and feelings! I'm a long time lapsed, so don't have anywhere else to share. Being Pentecost Sunday, it was very moving. 23 Quote
Drama Llama Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Congratulations to her! And to you to raising a child who knows what she believes and sought this out. It's more important to me that my kids do that, than that they choose exactly what I chose for myself. 3 Quote
Melissa Louise Posted May 23, 2021 Author Posted May 23, 2021 Thank you for the congrats to dd. It was quite overwhelming - I hadn't been to Mass for 25 years. The choir sang in Latin, which was really lovely, and I felt I could connect in my own weird agnostic way with the idea of the Holy Spirit as 'a sound like the rush of a violent wind', spiritus vehementis. It was like visiting family you haven't seen in a really, really long time. 8 Quote
LucyStoner Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Congratulations to your daughter. Pentecost is a great day for confirmation. My son and husband are starting RCIA and will be working towards being confirmed next Easter vigil. 3 Quote
barnwife Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Oh, celebrating Confirmation on Pentecost is extra special, given that it's the sacrament of the Holy Spirit! Congrats to her! 1 Quote
